Since you said please ♡  This will probably be the last fic I write before the episode, so I just want to say good luck guys, and I hope we all make it out alive. Meanwhile, here are all the malec fics I’ve written thus far, if you’re interested.

The big day has finally arrived.

Alec hadn’t slept a wink the previous night. And it showed. His thoughts race as he fights to keep himself calm. He puts on a brave face, greets guests, smiles politely alongside his mother and thanks people for coming, and then everyone is seated and quiet. It all seemed so surreal. Lydia looks beautiful, as always, as she walks down the aisle toward him, but seeing her in her beautiful dress causes guilt to fester in the pit of Alec’s stomach. He could never love her. And she deserved that. And Magnus had been right, they would never be happy together. But he couldn’t back out of this now.

If whenever he blinks he sees the face of a captivating warlock behind closed eyelids, well it isn’t his fault.

They are halfway through the ceremony when said warlock walks in.

He looks different than any other time Alec has laid eyes on him. His clothes are unusually understated, lacking their signature glittering flair. His eyes are downcast, as if he doesn’t seem to realize what a demanding presence he has no matter what he wears, but is still making an effort to blend in this time, instead of stand out. Alec can tell just by looking at him that he’s thought of not attending at all. It has to have been Izzy, surely, who has invited him. Alec hadn’t thought to ask, since his opinion on the union had been made very clear.
