This Is My Defense Of Salazar Slytherin

This is my defense of Salazar Slytherin

Okay, so you know the whole people burning witches thing in the Harry Potter series?

Everyone seems to get all stuck up on the timeline. People who do some research realized it doesn't match up. Salazar was born in the very early 1800s, and the witch trials in england ended in the early 1700s.

This means that his parents or more likely, his grandparents were part of the people being hunted.

Another thing people argue is that the witch's didn't actually burn. They just screwed around with the muggles. However, after thinking for a while, I realized. The children. Magical children wouldn't have the skills or the discretion to hide their magic or protect themselves. It's likely that most of the wizarding community that actually died at the hands of muggles were children.

It's possible that his grandparents had siblings and friends as children who were burnt to death. It wouldn't be that far off to think Salazar Slytherin grew up hearing horror stories of young children being hunted and killed.

This would explain him being scared of and hating muggles and the children who grew up with muggles.

The basilisk could've just been for protection against intruders.

Or the entire legend could be speculation based on modern biases because history is wonky and legend are unreliable.

Please don't kill me. This is just a theory stemming from being tired of all Slytherins being evil.

Yep, agree with all of this.

It's nice to think that maybe Snape had some friends so our sad boi isn't quite so sad but the truth is that he was somewhat friendly with maybe 3 people but was otherwise left to deal with all his hurt, stress and pain alone. He really didn't have anyone to support him.

Snater: Snape was Obsessed with Lily!

Canon: Snape Loved Lily! Harry himself says it so! Dumbledore says it so! A Patronus is a positive emotion and it only changes because of Love or Grief, Not Obsession. You're basically agreeing with Voldemort when you put it like that because that's how he understood Snape's feelings. And Voldemort can't even feel Love!

Snater: Snape bullied kids because he was rejected by Lily!

Canon: Snape bullied kids because he was mentally ill. He never had a support system to cope up from all those years of trauma and bullying. Even though this doesn't excuse his behaviour it atleast explains that he didn't bully kids just because he was "rejected" by Lily!

Snater: Snape was Rejected by Lily!

Canon: Snape never made his feelings known to Lily. Only Dumbledore and Harry knew about them later on. Lily only broke their friendship!

Snater: Snape only defected because of Lily!

Canon: Yes, Snape's initial motivation was Lily. But later on he completely reformed from his Deatheater ways and started saving people just because he could. He could've ditched the mission when he learnt the truth about Harry but he carried on thereby showing that he cares about the greater good.

Snater: Snape didn't redeem himself! He bullied kids!

Canon: In the grand scheme of things, Despite how rude his behaviour was, Snape's role in the war redeemed him. His bravery ultimately lead to Voldemort's defeat. Therefore, Nicenessā‰ Redemption.

Snater: Sirius and Harry had Terrible childhoods! But they turned out alright!

Fact: It's irrelevant to compare victims of abuse because everybody is different. No man is the same despite how similar they are. Furthermore, Harry and Sirius had loving friends who suported them and got their backs whereas Snape fell into the wrong crowd.

Snater: Snape was a racist!

Canon: Whether Snape was a racist prior to his initial defection is up for debate but Snape certainly dropped his supposed(IF any) Racist beliefs over the course of a decade.

Snater: yoU're a nAzi sYmpAtHizeR WhO sUpPoRts ChIlD aBuSE!

Isn't that how the conversation goes with most of the Snaters?
