SEGA finally decided to pander to Shadow fans after years of ignoring the prospect of utilizing him as a playable character. I guess I'm thankful to games like Sonic Mania and that other 2D platformer Sonic game I haven't had the time to get yet for showing them that people still do care about Sonic's friends.

I do consider Shadow to be one of Sonic's friends seriously though. 8 year old me desperately wanted a game like Sonic Generations with Shadow in it 12 years later. but hey! it's finally here I don’t care if the game comes out and it's “bad”. I've played the original Shadow the Hedgehog “Shadow is playable and in the title” alright. you got me. making sure to free my calendar and save money for once it comes out I'm actually hyped right now
