This is taken from the unnamed sequel to my unnamed WIP.

Jimmy shifted the crutch so he could lean over and take a brownie from his mother’s plate. It was a small piece, so he was able to shove the whole square in his mouth. Only then did he respond, and Riley glared at him for the food that muffled his words. “Jess said I had a green mohawk in her dream and I rocked it. She wants a picture to see if she was right.”

“We know what you look like with a mohawk.”

“Not a green one.”

Beyond the Darkness

speculative fiction, dual protagonists, multiple POVs

After escaping from a Military research facility, Thea is in hiding with her brother Kai. After a run in with a Military Peacekeeper and a former Syndicate member, she finds herself caught between two factions on the brink of reigniting a decades long war.

This story has special abilities, mysterious dreams, Secrets™, found family, a multi-generational war, and a whole lot of sad backstories.

Nightshade

Beyond the Darkness prequel

Kaori spent her whole life trying to prove herself to her father—only to be cast aside, replaced by her younger brother.

Gram finds 17 year old Nix injured in an alley and risks his own future to keep him alive.

Ryu is left to pick up the pieces and try to hold his clan together in the aftermath of the Military raid and his father’s death.

Nix just wants to be left alone. Instead he finds himself being tracked by a Military Peacekeeper and embroiled in another one of Kaori’s schemes.

Merpeople and Space Angels

This one is still very much in the brainstorming phase. It doesn’t even have a title. I spend time on it when I my other wips start giving me an existential crisis.

what if a merman became friends with an angel?

what if that angel was actually a space alien?

what ridiculous adventures could they have?

what if they learned a secret no one was supposed to know?

what if the angel broke all the rules?

Is there a piece of your story or a character in a certain scene that you are incredible proud of? If yes why?

Happy STS! Sorry I'm late!

The scene that immediately came to mind was the ending of the last short story I completed. I'm proud of it mostly because I've had to scrap the whole thing multiple times because the ending wouldn't fit so I'm glad that I was finally able to figure it out.

Oh, I am curious. Does any of your characters have a place they love to relax at or just to recharge or be alone (not alone)?

Ooh good question! I love making up character traits.

Hana from Cu-de-Sac loves being in the gardens because it's the furthest she's allowed to go from the estate.
