Hello everyone, I’ll be using this blog to collect smite references of every kind to help with art, cosplay, writing and anything else. It’ll purely be collection of art and guides so no shit posts round here! 

The guides will range from ones pre-exsisting, new ones created by myself and one by others - sumbit is always open!

Also looking for admins, since literally just run by me ( @the-smite-teacher ) so please send me a message if you’d be interested!

A Small Defense of Discordia’s Appearance

Eris/Discordia, like other obscure deities, is one lacking in visual representation, only having one or two images of her surviving in the modern era. The one complete picture of her which was found on an attic plate depicts her as a rather harpy like creature (hence the wings) and, to some interpretations, a garb made of darkness and/or chaos itself. While I (Mod Poikooze) am not a big fan of her appearance at the moment, I can’t say that it’s wholly inaccurate or not ‘how a chaos goddess should look like.’ 

Getting off topic for a moment, I find that ‘not how a chaos god should look’ argument a bit grinding. Are we forgetting Loki is a thing? And that how a good half of us want his kids? He’s just a dude in a fancy costume and mascara.

I get that she’s not a giant wolf or shape shifting death goddess, but i’d argue with all the flowing and color changing that she has more aesthetic ‘chaos’ than anyone else.

Apologies if this starts a fight. And again this is just my opinion, and does not necessarily reflect the thoughts of everyone on this blog.

My other SMITE art trade is going surprisingly well. I feel like I’m starting to feel more comfortable with my artistic abilities to translate what I need for a composition. I need to practice backgrounds and lighting more, but I don’t really know how. I hope everyone who draws learns something new today!

Smite references blog

I should probabbly announce that @smiteref is a blog I’m working on as a massive collection of (take a guess) smite references, for art, cosplay and literally anything since the recourses we do have are pretty scattered and the community is a little small. So give @smiteref quick look of you’re intrested! It’s still technically not 100% but getting there.

It would be super helpful if the many content creators here helped and contributed so we can build a big recourse for everyone!
