small horror i am today thinking about: palestinian detainee testifying that israeli soldiers were filming them on camera while torturing them (including rape)—one heard the soldier recording mention it was for ben gvir. unclear if they were directly livestreaming for him, under instructions to film from him, or were taking videos to show him later. but what a country. i can't think of a single dictatorship where the top brass was so openly implicated in crimes against humanity. they usually pretend that stuff isn't happening

Btselem releases a report of dozens of ex prisoner testimonies and doctors come back from gaza talking about children having sniper shots to the chest and head and israblr are talking about how the media is biased against them (despite the fact that NYT and CNN ams all other major news outlets endlessly regurgitate the hostages, the human shields myth, etc etc). Theyre still sharing timesofisrael articles, the most biased of them all. Heads in the sand they refuse to see what's going on around them. They'll just say btselem corroborated with hundreds of palestinians and lied and you can't tell what the truth is. It's the "internet has radicalized hate against israel" but not the state has radicalized them into believing Palestinian voices and livelihoods are worth nothing

I have shared multiple posts about his situation before, but donations have once again begun to stagnate despite the urgency of the deadline that has been imposed upon Bilal- with the decision on his deportation from germany coming on august 15th, i.e WITHIN THIS COMING WEEK.

If you don't know who he is, Bilal ( @bilal-salah0 ) is a 22 year old who moved to germany for work before the genocide began, and has been raising funds to evacuate his family of 18 from gaza since, including 5 children and 3 newborns.

Bilal's financial support has been getting them through this difficult time, as prices for basic amenities like food and water skyrocket, and necessities like diapers for the babies become scarce due to the blockade. He recently had to increase his goal to account for his familys living expenses till the border opens, and to cover the cut for international money transfer.

Currently he has raised only €75k / €100k

He needs to raise the remaining 25k within THIS WEEK

While he is working hard with the help of some people he connected with on tumblr to at least stall the decision on his deportation, if the verdict isnt in his favour he will be declared stateless and forced to seek asylum in belgium.

With the decision looming over him, he doesn't know what might happen happen to himself, OR his family (who have been wholly dependent on him for funds this whole time) if he isnt able to raise the money within this week. Because of the precarity of his situation in Germany at the moment, he hasnt been able to pay attention to fundraising as much as he needs to.

Against the backdrop of the islamophobic and anti-arab violence in europe against immigrants and asylum seekers today, i cant tell you how much his situation frightens me. While it has been well known for a some time now that the wealthy and comfortable portion of the world has been making efforts to turn away the underprivileged victims of their imperialism from their borders, the recent riots in the UK have proven just how hostile the world is becoming to their very existence.

The smear campaigns against palestinians, led by several users in the imperial core, that are still ongoing on this site are not an aberration- it is just another manifestation of the same problem, and i hope you realise how imperative it is that we do NOT allow this to become the norm.

That's why i need you all to take this seriously, to share his campaign as much as possible and donate ANY amount you can. I don't know what we can do about his deportation and the legal proceedings around it, but taking this burden off his shoulders is the LEAST we can do, especially if you live in the west.

SLOWING CAMPAIGN: Evacuate Shaima and Muhammad's Sons

Hi all, I want to thank you all for your support for Shaima and Muhammad's family after the hours-long stagnation their campaign experienced yesterday morning! Our task now is to raise enough funds for Shaima's and Muhammad's eldest sons, Yazid (18 years old) and Ahmed (17 years old), respectively.

Shaima and Muhammad's family is verified by @/el-shab-hussein on the vetted spreadsheet as family number 260, so please don't hesitate to donate and help!

Wafaa tells me that Ahmed is an extremely talented guitar player. The photo on the left is taken the last time all three families were together for a celebration, and Ahmed and his friends performed well-known songs for everyone. Ahmed also loves soccer, he was on his high school's soccer team and could be often seen on the playground or in the neighborhood streets with his friends practicing. When he is not out doing jobs around the camp to earn money to pay for expensive bags of flour now during the invasion, Ahmed still tries to play soccer every once in a while with the kids at the camp. He tells Wafaa he has lost so many of his teammates and friends to this war, including his best friend Mahmoud, who he saw bloody and was unable to save.

Yazid, Shaima's eldest son, had been planning his wedding with their neighbor's daughter, with whom he had been together with for years. Wafaa tells me the family would tease him for sending her flowers and writing her love letters all the time. They had made their wedding plans and invited their guests, planning to marry after their first year in university, but the invasion thwarted both their educations and their happy union. The father of Yazid's fiancee was martyred in the war when he was out searching for food for the family, and Yazid now spends his days split between the two families, splitting his pay to provide for both his family and hers.

I implore you to take this plea extremely seriously, the family is still living in al-Mawasi camp in Khan Younis, and was at ground zero when the camp massacre occurred July 13th. The eldest sons mostly work in transporting aid, and Ahmed specifically has been targeted by iof drones before, and sustained injuries in his leg (which thankfully has now healed with no further infections).

The donations have slowed down drastically in the past few hours, in the past hour Shaima and Muhammad's family has only received 7 donations, the most recent one is from more than 10 minutes ago.
