Friend Of Dorothys

"Henderson, hurry up and get out here! We gotta go now if you wanna get there early!" Eddie yelled back to his trailer, banging on the side of his van for effect.

"Hold your damn horses, I can't find my hat!" Dustin yelled back. Eddie cursed himself for letting Dustin leave his shit everywhere, it was like he was his annoying ass little brother or something.

Dustin came flying out the trailer, slamming the door behind him and running down the few porch steps eagerly. He sprinted to the van's passenger seat door, flinging it open and practically launching himself into the van.

"Let's go, I don't wanna get there and have the place all sold out!" Dustin demanded, angrily screeching at Eddie who went to lock the trailer door.

"Jesus, Henderson, I'm coming! We'll get there in time, it's like 5am!" Eddie yelled back, rubbing his eyes. He felt like he was still half asleep, his hair hadn't even been brushed yet. He was just going to have to rely on the random shit in his van to help him get at least half ready to be seen in public.

"Eddie, it is 8am, it's just like we're in school! How late have you been sleeping in?! Jesus…" Dustin scoffed, resting his arm on the inside of the van door.

Eddie smiled as he opened the car door, jumping into the driver's seat. "I think you forgot, Henderson, I graduated. I don't have to get up at 6am anymore for Mrs. Click's bullshit class." He grinned smugly at Dustin, slamming the van door behind him and pushing the keys into the ignition.

The 'Ride The Lightning' album immediately started humming through the radio, starting with 'Fade To Black'. Dustin looked puzzled as Eddie backed up to pull out of the trailer park. "Wait, what is this? I've never heard this before."

Eddie violently stopped the van and turned to Dustin. "You've never listened to the Ride The Lightning album?!"

Dustin shrugged, shaking his head. "My mom hates metal, if she found any in the house she would freak."

Eddie stared at Dustin, gobsmacked. "…Henderson, I am about to put you on something crazy." He evilly grinned, cranking up the volume before speeding off out of the trailer park.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Pull over, Eddie! Pull over here!" Dustin screeched, tapping at the window toward a small shop built on the corner of a hidden street. Eddie winced at Dustin's piercing voice, and looked for an empty parking spot.

"Calm down, Henderson, I'm finding a space! Jesus!" He scanned the side of the road, spotting an indent in the path where he could park. As soon as he pulled into the space, Dustin flung the van door open and ran toward the shop.

"Henderson, slow down! I'm responsible for you!" Eddie screamed, turning the engine off and hopping out the van. Dustin screamed profanities at the older man, even coming up behind Eddie and pushing him toward the shop.

"Eddie, c'mon! I need new dice, and you need new figurines!" Dustin hustled him into the shop, the small bell at the top of the door dinging to show a new customer had come in. The excited younger boy looked around like he was in a candy shop. He practically dragged the older boy up to the counter where a man, about Eddie's age, stood with his back to the pair.

"Erm, excuse me?" Dustin tapped on the counter, prompting the attention of the man behind it. His (H/C) jumped with him, and he spun around to meet the faces of the two.

"Oh, jeez, sorry!" He began, pulling the headphones off of his head. "I didn't hear you come in. Welcome to Fantasy Freaks, how can I help you?" He beamed, the smile almost feeling sickly fake. Yet Eddie's heart almost jumped out of his chest when he smiled.

"Hi, yeah, do you guys have DnD dice? And maybe some figurines?"

Dustin directed Eddie's attention back to their current conversation. His smile seemed to turn to something real when DnD was mentioned.

"Oh, yeah! We have a section over there for DnD dice and mats, and the figurines are in the back, if you wanna come look?" He gestured to a door behind the counter. "It's just for safety reasons they're behind here, you'd be surprised at how many people come in and steal them." The man giggled at the end, which made Eddie blush and turn his head away to look at a Warhammer poster on the wall.

"Oh, awesome. Okay, you go into the back with, uh…' Dustin paused to look at the man's name tag. '…Y/N, and I'll look at some of the dice. Okay?" He gave a thumbs up to Eddie before walking over to the left side of the shop to look at the DnD section.

Eddie nodded slightly before looking at Y/N, smiling awkwardly.

"Okay, just follow me into the back, sir."

Y/N walked toward the door and opened it, before gesturing to Eddie to come behind the counter and walk inside. "I promise, theres no chainsaws or murderers." He joked, and turned to walk inside.

And that's when Eddie noticed the black bandana in Y/N's right back pocket.

His stomach flipped as he cleared the counter. It was black, like his, but it was in his right pocket. It couldn't be, right? It might just be a fashion choice.

But he really, really he hopes it's not. Eddie's heart was thumping in its chest as he passed through the doorway, meeting Y/N as he looked through boxes on shelves.

"Right… okay, what sort are you looking for? We have enemies, players, and npcs. The price can vary on what sort you want, and if they're painted or not. Are you looking for any specifics, or…?" Y/N turned to look at the long haired man, holding up a few figurines.

"Uh, yeah, I'm looking for a, uh, spellcaster figurine. The race doesn't matter, I just need one for one of my players." He forced out, looking around the small back room out of fear he might scare the other man.

"Oh, so you're a DM, huh? Wish my last DM spent out on us… He didn't even buy his own books, everything was supplied by us players. You're a good DM. What's the campaign you're doing right now?" Y/N asked, obviously making small talk while he sorted through the box of small figurines.

"We just, uh, finished the Cult of Vecna, and I've been modifying the Temple of Elemental Evil over the past month… It's why me and my buddy, Dustin, are here. He wants new dice to fit his character, and my other friend, Gareth, needed a new spellcaster figurine since his brother broke his last one. I might pick up a couple of enemy figurines too…" He trailed off his sentence as his eyes slowly travelled to the bandana in Y/N's back pocket.

Y/N looked over to Eddie, and was about to say something when he was cut off by Dustin's squawks from the front of the shop.

"Dude, holy shit, they have D100's here! Should I pick up one?" Eddie leaned out the doorway to look over at Dustin, who was holding up a massive dice with black and gold splattering's on it.

"Dude, when would you ever need a dice that big?" Eddie sighed, pulling himself back into the small room.

He turned to see Y/N staring at his hip.

"…You okay?" He looked at the smaller/taller man, a confused look on his face.

"…You're a friend of Dorothy's too, huh?"

Eddie froze and stared at Y/N.

"…Yeah."

Both of them stared at each other before Y/N began to walk forward slowly.

"…She's nice, right?" He ran his hand along the shelves before stopping at the door, slowly pushing it so it was only open by a crack. Eddie's heart felt like it was in his mouth.

"Uhm, yeah. Yeah, she's, uh, great…" He began, starting to sweat from how close both of them had become within a few seconds.

"…S & M, huh?" Y/N smirked, lightly running his finger over where Eddie's battle vest stopped and his shirt began. "What a coincidence."

Eddie's breath hitched, he'd never been this close with a guy before in this context. Living in a small town meant that one slip up would make him even more of a freak, so he'd never even tried to get close with a boy like that.

"…Yeah." His heart was in his throat. "Look, is this a prank, or…?"

Y/N smiled slightly, looking into Eddie's eyes.

"If it was a prank, would I do this?"

Eddie didn't even have time to blink before Y/N's lips were on his.

They were soft, and almost seemed to move in sync with his. He'd only ever kissed Gareth on the cheek for a dare when he was 17, he'd never done anything like this with a boy.

And god he never wanted it to stop.

It wasn't long before the kiss turned into something more, small gasps and whines coming from the (H/C) man as Eddie pulled him in closer by his waist. His tongue slid across Y/N's lips, asking for entrance, which was quickly granted. He wasted no time in exploring Y/N's mouth, quiet moans leaving Eddie's mouth which only seemed to spur Y/N on.

Before Y/N could think, Eddie had turned them around and pinned him against the wall, slowly kissing across his cheek and down to his neck.

"Jesus, I don't even know your name and you're sucking on my neck." Y/N dryly chuckled out, trying his best to hold back his moans.

"Yeah, well, next time, don't be so fucking cute, okay?" Eddie half growled, wrapping his arms around Y/N's waist and pulling him into his chest.

"Heh, next time? Don't get cocky now, big boy. You gotta impress me first." Y/N chuckled, which quickly bubbled off into a moan when Eddie bit down on the joint between his neck and his shoulder. Y/N's hands flew into Eddie's hair, he was sure he was going to leave marks.

"Jesus, I don't wanna be the only one walking out of here with bruises on my neck." Y/N whispered saltily.

"What do you-"

Eddie was quickly cut off when Y/N turned his head and started kissing and biting at his neck. He gasped and whined at the sudden contact.

"Jesus- Fuck-"

He'd never experienced anything like this, he couldn't control himself. He was gasping and grabbing at anything he could. His forehead rested against the wall as Y/N nipped and sucked at his neck, his breath hanging heavy in Eddie's ears. He was trying everything he could to hold back his moans, and Jesus it was proving hard.

"God, you gotta stop or I'm gonna-"

"Eddie! You found the figurines yet?!" Dustin yelled from the front of the shop, interrupting the pair's makeout session.

"Heh, your friend is.. really impatient, huh?" Y/N chuckled, moving back from Eddie's neck and resting his head against the wall.

"God, I've known him for almost a year and he's insufferable." Eddie whispered in a jokey tone, moving away from Y/N to quickly fix his hair and his clothes.

"I should, erm… get the figurine you wanted." Y/N moved around him, his legs shaky from coming down from such a high.

"Eddie, come out here! Jesus, did he kill you or something?" Dustin joked, dropping the dice he had picked out onto the counter.

Eddie seemed to stumble out of the backroom, trying to cover the new marks on his neck with his hair. Y/N quickly followed, smoothing down his jacket with the figurine in his hand.

"Finally! You guys took forever." Dustin sighed as Eddie rounded the counter to stand by him, as he moved to pull out his wallet. "How much are the dice?"

Y/N shakily took the dice, checking the label on the packet. "That's um, that'll be $4.99." He managed to splutter out before turning to Eddie. "And the, um, the figurine. That's $9.99."

Eddie nodded slowly, pulling out a $10 bill from his pocket and sliding it over the counter. Y/N pressed some buttons on the cash register, taking the $10 bill and the $5 bill Dustin had put down on the counter and sliding it into the tray.

"Let me, erm, get your receipt-"

Y/N turned around to the receipt printer, taking a pen from the novelty pen holder by the printer and scribbling something down quickly.

Dustin stared at Y/N intently when he turned around and bagged the dice, figurine and receipt into a small bag and handed it to Eddie.

"Have a good day, guys. Feel free to come back."

He smiled at Eddie as he said that, which made Dustin suspicious.

"We will. There aren't any nerd shops in Hawkins, so… see ya." Eddie smiled back, backing away from the counter and bowing slightly before turning around and walking to the door, Dustin in pursuit.

Neither of them said a word to each other as they walked to the van. It was only when they were in the van that Dustin spoke.

"…What the hell was that?" He spoke lowly, staring out the window.

"What was what, man?" Eddie asked, starting the engine.

"I took you to that shop to get DnD stuff. Not make out with the cashier."

Eddie almost choked on his own spit when he said that.

"Jesus, man! We didn't do anything, he just couldn't find a spellcaster figurine!"

"Spellcaster figurine my ass, I'm not blind! I can see the shit on both of yours neck! Jesus, if you're gonna hook up with a guy, do it when I'm not in the next room! You're as bad as Steve!"

Eddie was tense as he pulled out and moved down the street.

"…Are you mad..?"

"About you liking guys? No, it's obvious Will likes guys, I think Steve does too. About you making out with someone when it was supposed to be a guys trip? Yes, absolutely." He itched his nose, and turned to reach into the bag from Fantasy Freaks. He picked out his dice, and the receipt accidentally.

"…I mean, at least you got his number. Now you can do gross adult stuff in somewhere that's not the backroom to a nerd shop."

Eddie whipped his head to Dustin for a second before turning back to the road.

"Wait, he what?!"

He snatched the receipt from Dustin's hand, and turned it over. And there, plain to see, was his phone number.

He smirked slightly to himself, and shuffled to put the receipt gently into his pocket, to not smudge the ink.

He was definitely going to call that cute ass nerd later that night. He wasn't done with him yet.
