Autumn thrifting is my happy place 🎃

I'm not saying Wednesday Addams lives here, but I'd be surprised if she wasn't making coffee when you visit 🦇🤍

This house has raised many generations of leaf pile jumpers, candy apple biters, and silly pumpkin face carvers. It saw the first leaf garlands carefully gathered and sewn from the best, brightest golden leaves and strewn along the dining room ceiling. It's seen many home made Halloween costumes made of bedsheets or old overcoats and Pa's boots. The family famous potato casserole now eaten decades later was invented in its kitchen on a rainy September afternoon. And it has seen not only happy photos taken with a Brownie camera, but now smart phones. And yet, somehow the more things change, the more they've stayed the same: with the love of a family played out during a truly magical season. 🍂

A witch lives here with her cats and she gives out the best candy apples every Halloween. All the kids pretend to be frightened because it's more fun to pretend though she is a very nice witch. It's the one house not covered in eggs or toilet paper by the little na'er do wells on Mischief Night. Some swear they've seen the brooms on the porch zoom to life, others say the pumpkins glow with a supernatural quality compared to most jack-o-lanterns in the neighborhood. Some swear they've heard the pumpkins even talk. Either way, climbing the porch to ring her doorbell is the most electrifying feeling a child will experience growing up in this town, though the amnesia of adulthood will dull the memory to superstition in their minds. 🐈‍⬛🔮
