MCs Guidebook: Cleansing

MC’s Guidebook: Cleansing

image

The first thing any good witch should tell you when you ask where to start is cleansing. I know I know. I never claimed to be a good one as this is clearly not the first guidebook post in this series, but hey, I’m going over it now aren’t I?

Let’s Begin!!!

What is it?

Cleansing is how it sounds. It is what a witch, priest, priestess, or anyone does to make a space clean. This can mean physically or cleansing by energy. For our sake this is meant to be cleaning out energies. Namely the negative ones.

How do I do it?

Pst. There are probably over 1000 ways to cleanse a space. The most popular way is to cleanse using a sage stick and letting it’s smoke waft through the area you have. I will go over way’s to cleanse here shortly and how to do them :)

Do I need to buy things?

No. Not unless you really want to. Cleansing really requires nothing, but it’s nice to have a few things to assist. But again. Not Necessary to have them :)

Where do I cleanse?

Anywhere. Most will say your altar, but come on that can get a little unrealistic. Walk around your house etc whatever. Anywhere is perfectly fine.

Why do I Need To Cleanse?

Your room is clean. You leave it alone for about a week and suddenly, there’s things on the floor that slipped by without you taking notice. You shrug and say you’ll do it later until theres so much stuff on your floor you can’t walk properly without stepping over a few things. Yet, you shrugg it off saying you’ll do a deep clean soon. Eventually all of it is going to get so messy you could get sick from walking in there.

That’s what happens when you don’t cleanse. All of the negative energy builds up to a point it can be harmful.

When Do I Cleanse?

As soon as you can. Every time you can. Schedule it something to ensure it gets done.

What happens if I don’t cleanse?

Things get backed up and it can make you feel shitty. It can mess up spells and honestly having negative energy filling a room sucks even for those who aren’t as attuned to feeling energy.

What things require cleansing?

Honestly let me make a short list here.

You.

Rooms.

Divining tools

Altars

Crystals

New homes

New Objects

What ways are there to cleanse?

A lot. Here’s a list of ways that I know of. Anyone can add onto this!

Smoke cleansing:

Done with an incense stick or a sage stick, maybe herbs if you don’t have access to either of those. Light it let it burn for a few seconds and blow out the flame. This will create a smolder and smoke, all while it is burning. If you are cleansing a room, walk around the room with it or just let it sit(I do this, but I’m trying to do 20 things at one time so don’t judge me). Note: If you have pets, this shouldn’t be a preferred method, especially if they are smaller animals like birds. If you do chose to use this method PLEASE make sure you open your door, windows and have your fans on. Breathing in any smoke is bad for you and your pets.

Visualization:

This is done through meditation. Sit in quiet or with voiceless music and imagine the object/room/thing you wish to be cleansed. Now imagine all of the energies that could be attached to it(I like seeing it as bacteria. I hate germs but not on a high scale)and then imagine washing the energies away or a light taking place of the negative(lmao disinfecting the negativity away). It is usually best to have the object in hand. If its not an object you are cleansing then be in the room or area you want cleansed while you do this. Note: Visualization takes time and effort. It is also harder for some. So just take your time with it. Don’t get panicked and don’t give up if you can’t do it right the first time :)

Positive Energy :

You must think I’m joking right? Nope not at all!! Being positive is actually a good way to diminish the negative energies. How does it work? Think of it this way. The energy you are trying to get rid of is just a lot of people talking. You are a speaker. If you start blasting music(the postivity) the negative will eventually shut up and leave because who can have a conversation when its soooo loud am I right? I did this a lot. I would sing and dance in my room because it made me happy! That room, my friends can attest, had the most positive and most calming energy in the house. So calming that friends who had trouble sleeping at someone elses house could just crash five seconds after sitting in the room. I no longer have that room, but my mom uses it for her meditation and the energy still remains :)

Sigils:

Sigils can actually boost or do the cleansing for you. Just make the sigil and activate it!(I do have a post on how to do this if you’d like more information. MC’s Guidebook Sigils) Note: you can use premade sigils. You do not have to crate them. Even if you put them on something, if your intent is there the sigil will work.

Again there are may methods of cleansing but these were the ones to stick out  in my head the most. Good luck to you all in whatever you hope to acheive today, tomorrow or in your life!

Sincerely,

The Sleepy Witch

Powerful trinkets of protection - The Hag Stone.

Powerful Trinkets Of Protection - The Hag Stone.

Uses:

• Protection

• Warding

• Healing

• Perception

• Good luck

• Ridding nightmares

The Hagstone, also known by its other common names; Adder, fairy, seer, witch and Odin stones, are rocks with holes piercing thoroughly to the other side formed by running water.

They are incredible useful amulets and talisman and have been used for centuries alongside ritual and spell work.

Commonly desired objects of magical intention throughout older folklore - Some legends say that the holes are formed where serpents gather together and their venom erode it.

Other lore say that they bare the mark of spiritual beings and even more commonly known say looking through them will allow the wearer to see the unseen, particularly the fey.

They are also very good for finding lost things.

Due to the aliments they are formed in these stones are lovely allies, especially in dire times.

So where do you find them?

Rivers, creeks, streams, lakes and oceanside! As long as there is running water, there very likely well may be one near by.

“Get Yo Life Together” Grilled Cheese

This is a recipe for a “potion” that you can actually consume! Everything in this recipe is 100% edible (barring allergies) and even fairly good for you. I’m going to post the recipe first and add the correspondence explanations and personal notes at the end.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*Ingredients* Bread - 2 slices Cheese - 2 slices Bacon - 3 slices, cut in half and cooked Apples - Cored and thinly sliced Butter - 2 Tbs, softened
*Directions* Heat skillet over medium-low heat Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread Place first slice of bread into pan, buttered side down Working quickly, layer the rest of the sandwich on top of the first slice of bread in this order – Cheese – 3 half-slices bacon – Apple slices – 3 half-slices bacon – Cheese – Bread, buttered side up When first side of bread is nicely golden brown, carefully flip the sandwich Once both sides of the sandwich is cooked and the cheese is melted, remove from heat and serve.
*The Witchy Bits* As you build your sandwich, imagine that you are building your life. Each ingredient has purpose and represents pieces of your life coming together. Think about all of the things in your life that need to come together for your health, happiness, and general well-being. As you add ingredients, confirm the building blocks to yourself.
Butter, I will be accepting the changes that need to happen in my life. Bread, I will become stable and I can build my healthy relationships. Cheese, I will be joyful and grounded. Bacon, I will learn what my strenghts are and use them. Apples, I will love honestly, I will see the beauty in myself, others, and the world around me. Through these I will prosper. Bacon, I will build myself a solid foundation to learn and grow. Cheese, I am open myself the healing of the universe. Bread, I will be clear in my intent and I will stay on the path. Butter, I will nurture myself and my relationships with others.
While you eat your sandwich, visualize yourself pulling all of the pieces of your life together. Think about what needs to be done. Understand that any obsticles that stand in your way can be handled the same way you are handling your sandwich. Not all at once but rather, one bite at a time.
*Correspondences* Apple - Prosperity, love, and beauty Cheese - Grounding, healing, joy Bread - Stability, kinship, carrier for intent Bacon - Grounding and strength Butter - Soothes energies in relationships, nurturing, makes change easier
*Personal Notes* Choice of Bread - You can use whatever you’ve got on hand but my personal recommendation is sourdough. Cheese - Again, you can use what you have but I recommend either a smoked gouda or a sharp cheddar. I do NOT recommend American cheese, neither the flavor nor the texture will blend with the other ingredients. Apples - another instance of use what you have, I like Granny Smiths for this. You also want to be sure that the apples are sliced very thinly and are room temperature. If they are too thick or if they are cold it will throw off the texture of the whole thing. Hot, melty cheese will give way to cold, crunchy apples and it will be weird, trust me. Bacon - Cook your bacon before you put it on the sandwich. Depending on how crispy you like your bacon, it might also be easier to cut it into half-slices before you cook it.
Chronological Order of Dragon Age games, books, comics, etc.
This list is actually an approximation based on my best knowledge and research. It includes the video games, flash games, DLCs, books, comic books, and films/miniseries. I’ve included the closest dates of each item as described for the in-game calendar. Enjoy!
The * means that I’m not personally sure that these Dragon Age themed things are essential or necessary to the Dragon Age official chronological order or any character back stories, but since I have not personally looked at them I advise you to make your own decision. Plus it can’t hurt to check them out if you just want to be immersed in the world more!
The World of Thedas Volume 1 (e/book, history of threads up to 9:40) Dragon Age: The Stolen Throne (e/book, Maric and Loghain backstory, about 8:96 to 9:08) Dragon Age: The Calling (e/book, Duncan backstory, about 9:08 to 9:08??) *Dragon Age: Journeys (Flash game, unsure of dates, http://www.dragonagejourneys.com) Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker (film, Cassandra backstory, 9:22) Dragon Age: Origins - Leliana’s Song (DLC, Leliana’s backstory, unsure of dates) *Dragon Age (comics, published by IDW) *Dragon Age tabletop game Dragon Age: Origins, including The Stone Prisoner (DLC of extra character Shale), Warden’s Keep, and Return to Ostagar DLCs (video game) *Dragon Age: Warden’s Fall (miniseries by Machinima, takes place between Origins 9:31 and Awakenings 9:31) Dragon Age: Awakenings (expansion game of Origins, 9:31) Dragon Age: Origns - Golems of Amgarak and Witch Hunt (DLCs, 9:31 and 9:32 respectively) Dragon Age 2, including The Exiled Prince DLC (video game, DLC of extra character Sebastian, 9:30 - 9:40) Dragon Age 2 - Legacy (DLC, supposed to take place any time between 9:31 - 9:37) Dragon Age: Redemption (YouTube mini series, 6 months before Mark of the Assassin, Tallis backstory) Dragon Age 2 - Mark of the Assassin (DLC, focused on Tallis, anytime between 9:32 and 9:34) *Dragon Age: Legends (Facebook game now available for download, continuation of DA: Journeys, tied in to DA2) Dragon Age: Asunder (e/book, includes Leliana, Wynne, and Shale, 9:40) Dragon Age: The Masked Empire (e/book, includes Celene and Leliana, 9:38-9:40) Dragon Age: The Silent Grove (comic, featuring Alistair, Varric, and Isabella, after 9:40) Dragon Age: Those Who Speak (comic, featuring Alistair, Varric, and Isabella, after 9:40) Dragon Age: Until We Sleep (comic, featuring Alistair, Varric, and Isabella, after 9:40) Dragon Age: The Last Flight (e/book, concerning griffons, alternating story lines between 5:12-5:24 and 9:41-9:42) Dragon Age: Inquisition (upcoming video game, takes place after Dragon Age 2) The World of Thedas Volume 2 (upcoming e/book, should chronicle history beginning with Inquisition)
