Restless

The moonlight shined through the gaps of your curtains as you tossed and turned in your bed. You checked the time, 3:47AM, it’s been an hour since you had woke up and you have tried everything to get back to sleep, counting sheep, listening to a playlist that was supposed to help relax you, drinking warm milk and honey but nothing worked.

He isn’t here that’s why.

You sighed out of annoyance and rolled over to your side, now facing your window. It’s been a week since Taehyung has been on tour, he only recently just left Korea for Japan to start his world tour with the rest of the members. This meant your home was cold, depressing and just plain boring. You don’t have anyone making corny jokes, you don’t have anyone constantly asking questions like a confused child and you don’t have anyone to sleep with at night. without him your bed feels cold and empty, you miss the warmth he brought, you miss him.

Something caught your eye, you reached over to your bedside table for your phone contemplating whether or not you should do it. 

Whatever, it’s worth a go isn’t it?

You found his number and pressed the phone to your ear.

‘Is something wrong? Are you okay?’ Your heart swelled at the sound of his voice and you instantly felt at ease. ’(Y/N) hello? Are you there? Is there something wrong? Please say something.’

'Huh? I’m fine don’t worry, sorry for calling so late at night you must have been slee-,’ he cut you off with a chuckle.

'It’s okay,’ he said, ‘I couldn’t sleep either,’ there was a silence it wasn’t awkward, just a calming silence.

'I miss you,’ you hadn’t even realised what you had said. You regretted it but a part of you thought there was nothing to be ashamed of. 

You weren’t really one to speak your feelings and it was hard for you to show affection. You always felt like you wouldn’t be enough for Taehyung. He was such an energetic, happy boy who never failed to show the world how much he loves you. 

You would be lying if you said you have never noticed the dejected look in his eyes when you don’t return his 'i love yous’. He knows you love him, he just wished you said it more.

Taehyung was surprised of your words and couldn’t help bunt smile, 'Wow did I hear you right? maybe I should go away more,’ his laugh gave you the butterflies you craved and for a second you forgot that he wasn’t here with you.

'Shut up will you, I was trying to be nice and if you won’t appreciate it I will take my words back Mr Kim,’ your laugh was like music to his ears, he felt at home, 'and if you think staying away from me will make me love you more, why don’t you just stay in japan? I’m sure I can find a replacement,’ he chuckled at your words. How he wished he was back in Korea with you in bed cuddling together.

You spent another hour or so talking about each other’s day and how life would be if you were both fish. You had no idea how it came to that but it did

Out of nowhere you felt an urge, you had no idea to where it came from, all you know is that you really wanted it. 

You wanted a puppy.

'I want a puppy,’ you just blurted the words out.

Taehyung was caught off guard, 'A puppy? Where did this come from? I wouldn’t mind getting a puppy either, but do you think we could look after it?' 

'I probably could but I don’t know about you, you would probably squish the poor thing whenever you sit your fat ass on the couch,’ you couldn’t help but laugh as you think about the countless times he has sat on you and nearly suffocated you.

'Hey! It’s not my fault you take up the whole couch whenever you 'sit’ on it. You’re like the size of a whale! Where else do you expect me to sit?’ You both laugh.

Oh, I’ll get back at you Taehyung.

After you both calmed yourselves there was a silence, you don’t know what came over you but you did it.

'I love you Tae,’ this was one of the rare moments where you said it first. You just said those four words, never in your life have you been more nervous. 

But your thoughts were cut-off when you heard the sound of his voice.

'I love you too (Y/N).
