My Interpretations Of 'The Path's Wolves

After watching a video by Izzzyzzz on YT, I interpreted them differently than she did. Some of them, especially Carmen's wolf, didn't really fit with my perspective. So, I'll go through my headcanon's and (when needed) reasonings

I'm also going to tell you my personal aliases for them all, since some of them fit them a bit better

Robin - Kid Red

Rose - Angel Red

Ginger - Rebel Red

Ruby - Goth Red

Carmen - Beauty Red

Scarlet - Mother Red

Ok, now onto my opinions:

Robin's wolf represents learning about both life and death

Rose's wolf represents learning about how life can be unkind to others

My reasoning for this would be not only because of the rowboat (where she could have almost drowned) but the bathrooms look similar to that of school bathrooms. Perhaps when she started school, she began to be bullied because of the way she dressed (see the grandmother house's page).

Ginger's wolf represents puberty and the body/mind's changes that occur

Not only is this represented by the images of Ginger's clenched knees (a symbol of how painful periods can be), but I also think that it would make sense to be how Ginger, in other people's theories, could be struggling with her sexuality or gender identity. Puberty is when it all hits you unexpectedly- just like how the girl in red surprises Ginger when she doesn't expect it

Ruby's wolf represents peer pressure

Now, Ruby does exhibit signs of mental health struggles and I think those can be brought on by 2 things-

1) she could be falling in with a bad crowd and they're a sign she is getting withdrawal or they're causing her mental health to deteriorate

2) her depression is caused by those, as she says, "stereotyping her" as "most people call her goth".

Charming wolf offering her a cigarette would be her trying an outlet that is unhealthy, most likely by peers who reassured her that it would help her feel better. In reality, it did the opposite.

Carmen's wolf represents learning about lust verses love

There's A LOT of evidence that points to Carmen wanting "a husband to marry" and "wants to find the one". With relationships or love, sometimes it can be described as you getting butterflies in your stomach(making your head spin), your face becomes warm (like blood boiling), or having sex between couples to signify your love ("peeling her skin until she is pure for you" could be her giving her virginity to a man she thinks she is in love with)

However, her wolf, aka the woodsman, is a balding man that may have told her she's beautiful and lured her in to say he's in love with her- only to take advantage of her because he convinced her that 'this is love'. It ended in her finding out the harsh reality that there is a difference between those who want love and those who desire lust.

Scarlet's wolf represents how when you grow up, your dreams may not happen

Scarlet loves music and wanted to pursue it. The Fay Wolf may have been her teachers who told her that the music education wouldn't have consequences and be inexpensive. After all, he did appear to MENTOR her on the piano. Unfortunately, this was not the case. College is expensive and can leave you in debt. Take the room the sisters are in; it's small, they're all in there, and they all seem to not have much furniture. In grandmother's house, the couches and tables are covered in plastic- similar to how one would sell/store/get rid of things they couldn't keep (maybe due to money or the size of a more affordable house). The books scattered everywhere could be representing how she couldn't go to school because of her not only taking care of her sisters, but also because of money. It could also explain her OCD vibes as she doesn't want anything to break or she wants to have room for what they CAN have- so she keeps things tidy.

Anyway, that's just my personal headcanons. I like them better than the "Carmen's was a negative sexual experience" because- not only is she a minor, but it helps explain the rest of the domestic stuff and is a bit less problematic in my opinion. Plus, it helps give Rose's imagery a bit more clarity.

Anyway yeah, go play the path it's awesome sauce. I also might redesign the characters too because black and red are my fav colors and I NEED TO DRAWWWW

k bye
