Dark tired eyes, an exhausted slumped posture, this simply would not do. Soon the red haired tailor was draped in several blankets, some fluffed pillows, and the snuggled form of Engel pressed against Tay’s side and back. The feathered creature was in full bristle, soft ebony feathers puffed like a mama bird to cover its brood.

The stubborn, worn tailor needed rest. Thus, a forcement of “nesting” appeared to be in order. Hemming and embroidery could wait until the man had had a decent time to sleep.

Cue a muffled grunt, delayed til Engel was already half done with his plan.

This wouldn’t do. He was going to work. There was plenty strength in him to get up, even without much difficulty, bird or no. The tailor had every intent to do so-

“Blanket pile party!” Cookie exclaimed, flopping down next to Engel.

“Oof-” Tay wheezed in turn.
