it'd probably be that this felt so natural to me that i couldn't notice. she's already starting to remember new stuff by the end of her story in Hopeless Masquerade, so i think her also getting traces of conscious thought is something that makes sense.

i mean she even started her CDS appearance by trying to corral the rioting spirits! i'm not sure if Subterranean Animism koishi would've been that responsible, since her first response after seeing Utsuho blow holes in the ground was "wow i want my pets to do that too! :D"

i think she's changing, even if only a little.

Rereading CDS made me wonder why i didn't see all the big Koishi fans ever talk about this.

It was a pretty good illustration of how Koishi functions.

It's actually not even an overanalysis, it's very clearly intentionally written and laid out like this.
