Summary: You catch your husband reading your daughter’s diary

A/N: I did it again with the ‘A’ name, I managed not to with the boys, but I just couldn’t resist it with the daughter. Oops

You sighed, trudging upstairs with another load of freshly washed and ironed laundry. You stopped off at your son, Freddie’s room, scowling at the mess that covered his bedroom floor. You placed his clean laundry on his dresser, which was the cleanest piece of furniture in the room, before heading to his twin brother, Harry’s room, where you found both boys playing on their games console.

“You need to tidy up mister!” You pointed at Freddie who groaned. Freddie had always been the messier twin and when you’d moved them into separate rooms when you and Archie moved to a bigger house whilst you were pregnant with Annabel, Harry stopped cleaning up Freddie’s mess.

“Okay, mom, later, I promise.” Freddie called over his brother’s head, who scoffed knowing it was unlikely that that would happen.

“You are a senior now Freddie, you’ve got to stop relying on me to tidy your room up. You and Harry will be at college next year and you can’t be messy there.” You scolded, leaning over to ruffle Freddie’s messy ginger locks. You placed a kiss on Harry’s head and left with the last bit of clean laundry for your daughter’s room.

Annabel was out on a date, so you expected her room to be empty when you stepped inside. What you didn’t expect to see was your husband sat with on your daughter’s bed with his back to the door.

“What are you doing, Arch?” You voice echoed around the empty room and your husband shot up from your daughter’s bed and dropped whatever it was that he had been holding, it landed with a thud on the floor.

“Uh, nothing, nothing at all, Y/N.” Archie started to babble, a sign that he had been up to something. You set your daughter’s clean clothes on the dresser by the door and walked over to where Archie was trying to discretely kick something under the bed.

“Is that Annabel’s diary?” You asked incredulously bending down to look at the book. “You were reading our 15-year-old daughter’s diary?”

“No!” Archie replied, speaking a little bit too quickly. “I mean… yes, but she’s my daughter, I can read her diary! I even bought her this thing!”

You shook your head in disbelief. “No, you can’t Archie! This is why she doesn’t tell you anything! Why are you reading it?”

Archie bent down and picked the diary up. “Because she doesn’t tell me anything! She didn’t even tell me where she was going today!”

You laughed slightly. “But she told me! She’s not anywhere getting into trouble Archie!”

Archie shot you a pointed look. “’Dear Diary, I’m going around Josh’s house today to meet his parents. I really like him, I think it might be time’ – it might be time?! Y/N, our daughter is thinking about having sex and I have to learn about it in her diary?!” His face was flushed red by the time he finished ranting.

You let out a giggle. “Calm down, Archie! She’s not talking about having sex!” You took your daughter’s diary out of your husband’s hands and tucked it back under her pillow, where it usually lived. “She’s talking about saying I love you!”

Archie’s face paled slightly, and he looked ashamed for a minute before anger clouded his features again. “Wait a minute, so, you knew about this boy?”

“I’m her mom, of course I knew Archie, my job is to talk to her about boys and yours is to hurt them when they hurt her. She’s not ready for sex Archie, she just wants to tell him that she loves him.” You spoke softly. “I wasn’t going to betray her trust by telling you about Josh, there wasn’t any need. She’s just a kid, Arch.”

“But he’s a 15-year-old boy!” Archie argued. “I know what it was like when I was 15 and I was doing those things then!”

“Our sons started having sex when they were 15 but you didn’t worry about that!” You shot back. “In fact, you practically encouraged them.”

Archie frowned. “I just don’t want her getting hurt, Y/N.” Archie’s head dropped to stare at the floor.

“Then I’ll talk to her about it and see if I can convince her to invite him over for dinner, then you can meet him, okay?” You stepped closer to your husband and he pulled you close in a tight embrace. You stood in your husband’s arms for a few minutes.

Annabel’s voice rang from her doorway. “What the hell are you two doing?”

Can you do a SP one about how him and Y/N have been dating secretly and on their 5 month he gives her his ring which is a ring he never takes off and the others don’t realise and when they do they knew it was sweet peas

I really like this prompt and it has been added to my queue, but I’m not going to be writing it for a little while as I’ve done so much Sweet Pea as of late. It will definitely get done though, my lovely!
