So my work computer was down these past few days, so I had to use another work station surrounded by people, so that's why I've been MIA. Some new developements:
work seems to be going alright, although one of my coworkers has an obvious crush on me (yikes)
I'm going to see my family next weekend! Very excited for that
my partner is excelling in their field!
I'm now addicted to MonopolyGo
I got so much laundry done yesterday
Aside from that, not much. I think my time priority (for my personal time) needs to be about hitting the gym, aka only sing the treadmill while I watch YouTube.
I need to prepare for this winter freeze this weekend. I need to wash all our blankets, get a full tank of gas, some flash lights, and some water.
I don't know if I'll post anything until maybe Wednesday due to weather possibly keeping me away from work. Maybe a reblog here and there, but I hate the mobile version and my peronal laptop sucks so we'll see.

Good morning my readers!
I hope you all had a great New Year's holiday! I know I sure did. My partner and I went to a friends house for a small kickback and we had a blast, although the next morning, not so much. The hangover I earned pretty much started when I went to bed and wouldn't let me sleep at all! That aside, I was able to spend a lovely holiday with my partner again, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I have a few goals this new year I would like to complete, so here they are:
Read 5 books to completion. Unfortunately I've had a habit of reading books to about 75% through, then becoming uninterested and moving on. I'm going to try to break that! I've started a Storygraph account to track my reading stats that I plan on sharing on here.
Work out at least once a week. Although I am a bit insecure about my weight, the goal with this one is more about heart health and mobility. I currently live in a colder climate than I'm used to so I'm hoping that this will help loosen up my joints.
Complete some at home studies. I have already graduated from college and currently have no intentions of returning, but I would like to keep my studies up. I think I'll go to a library or coffee shop and study with seminars and lectures from YouTube.
I need to come up with a schedule for daily, weekly, and monthly activities so I will try to wriggle this in there as well.
No photos today! I don't take photos often enough to post but maybe that's another thing I can try to do. et me know how your NYE celebrations went!

The days are getting colder in the American south. Never in my life did I think I would ever have to buy mittens, but here we are. This weekend we are supposed to have a major freeze so I will need to prepare for that.
Sleep has been difficult to come by these past few days. Sunday night I was "half asleep" the whole time and couldn't relax for some reason, and last night my partner had an emergency call and needed to go take care of the situation. Hopefully tonight I can get a good nights rest.
Yesterday I made some turkey fried rice for todays lunch so hopefully it tastes as great as it did when I sampled it!
Big news: I got an offer for (volunteer) writing for a new paper that's opening up near me. Since this new paper is very new, they don't have a budget at the moment, but later on hopefully so.
I finally finished reading Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr! t's probably taken me over a year to finally get through it but I did! My next book is Babel by RF Kuang, which I'm seeing some mixed reviews on but hopefully it's a much smoother read than CCL. Don't' get me wrong, I enjoyed the story and themes, however that book was very longwinded and could have definitely cut down 100-200 pages worth of writing and still accomplish the same goal.
I think that's all I have to talk about today. I will try to post more poems/quotes and reblog what I find interesting. Until next time!

"I love all but one of the "how's" of Cloud Cuckoo Land. I love how interconnected the characters are. I love how all of these stories are driven by the original CCL. I love the point made that the same story can be learned from and appreciated over millenia, but it is so hard to love..."
Hi readers! I finally got around to reviewing Cloud Cuckoo Land! I spent a few hours trying my best to put all my thoughts down on this review and I hope you might be able to makes sense of it.
