I'm so sorry your tumblr is having issues! I generally write in Google docs or Keep notes and edit them as I go. then I put them in tumblr drafts after I've decided I'm done and do any text editing (bold italic colouring etc) and post it that way. it makes it easier personally and it risks less bc google autosaves as you work! hope this helps :)
