Anyone who’s read any of my Bastion and Ida stuff can probably already tell. But praise kink in vore is definitely my favourite thing. The pred having a practically religious experience over how the prey tastes on their tongue and feels in their belly trying to share it through words but also finding it difficult to truly articulate what it means to them to finally have the prey this way. They say all sorts of outrageously smitten and complimentary things but in the Preds mind it still doesn’t do the truth of it justice. The only thing that can truly do their prey justice is their body working diligently, devotedly to make the two of them one. Still they whisper sweet nothings the entire time because the prey deserves nothing less.

I really like the idea of a pred not necessarily “cooking” their prey but “preparing” them. Maybe there’s special soaps and hygiene products that are easy on a Preds stomach and palate. Or maybe the Pred has to make these things themselves and marry them to an individual preys natural taste like a chef would find the perfect sauce or glaze. They give the prey a whole spa day before eating them.

Maybe certain foods make a prey more healthy or even subtly change their flavour and the pred is an accomplished cook who works hard to make food to both the prey and eventually the Preds satisfaction. They feed them over maybe a week so the prey’s body has time to feel the pred’s cooking at work before the pred gets to enjoy their own meal in turn.

Dressing the prey up in something that makes them look good, maybe the fabric is easier on the Preds stomach or maybe it’s going to be removed while eating and is purely decorative.

The mix of domestic rituals or crafts but with something more voracious just under the surface.

I’ve been hitting the Hannibal fanfiction again and every time a story just casually has Hannibal contemplating eating Will in a way that implies he doesn’t want to share him with anyone else in complete contrast to his usual MO of feeding other people the evidence. I’m like: “That’s the most romantic thing I’ve ever heard. You go cannibal man!”

When you have two characters that you want to put into all the situations but you have to decide on only a few situations that are actually linear and canon.

They became close friends quickly, so the prey knows all about what the pred can do. They've watched them casually slurping someone down, kicking and screaming, and they've sometimes even stayed throughout the digestion process. It's a long, slow process, too - the pred's stomach is constantly grumbling and gurgling, and during the first hour or so, their meal is always super rowdy, struggling to get out. Of course, the pred and prey have a strong friendship already - in fact, they're crushing on each other - but the prey also knows very well what the pred'a definition of a "crush" is.

(To the pred, having a crush means that they like a person so much that they need to eat them, and then spend hours digesting them. It's very intimate and personal, according to the pred, because when they eat someone, they're "allowing" someone to rest among their most vulnerable organs).

The prey doesn't want that, though, so they don't dare let it slip that they have feelings for the pred. There are many moments of tension, though; sometimes, a hungry growl sounds from the pred's middle when they're alone, or the pred will "accidentally" somehow pin the prey underneath them. Regardless of how hard the prey is trying to avoid becoming a meal, they have a feeling that they'll end up as a grumbling bulge beneath the pred's skin, whether they like it or not.
