Proposal in the Rain-Suga

“He hasn’t called?” Jungkook asked, looking up at you from his position on the floor. Whatever game he was playing was still on, his teammates voices could be heard shouting at him from his headphones.

“No.” You sighed. “I understand he’s under a lot of pressure, but a text would be nice.” Jungkook gave a frown before turning back to his game. He had come over straight away once he had heard of his friends forgetfullness. Yoongi had forgotten your 3rd year anniversary. Yoongi had texted you, but instead of the message you wanted, he just told you he would be home late. You knew he was working hard in his studio, the boys’ comeback was coming up. You didn’t want to put anymore pressure on him, but you thought he would remember this day. It was important to you, shouldn’t it be important to him?

“I’m going out to grab something to eat, you want anything?” You asked Jungkook as you grabbed your coat. Shaking his head, he told you no, his eyes never leaving the game.

As soon as he heard the door close, he dropped his controller, instantly picking up his phone.

“What do you want?” He heard Yoongi’s voice answer. Jungkook could already tell he wasn’t in a good mood. Maybe he shouldn’t tell him, but the look on your face as you cried over Yoongi broke his heart. He needed to tell Yoongi how much he had messed up.

“What’s the date?”

“You called me for that! Jungkook you do realise it tells you the date on your phone. If that’s it I’m hanging up.”

“It’s the 18th.”

“Congratulations.” Jungkook could hear the sound of the keyboard, meaning Yoongi had put him on speaker, and probably was only half listening.

“I always liked the 18th of June. It always feels special and romantic.” The sound of they keyboard stopped suddenly.

“Shit.” Jungkook heard Yoongi mutter. “I’m dead aren’t I?”

“Probably.” He heard Yoongi sigh and hit the desk.

“I had it all planned out. I have a reservation, and a suit. It was going to be romantic.”

“It still could be. Just come here and apologize.”

“I’m on my way.” Jungkook quickly hung up, when he heard the door open.

“What did you do?” You asked a guilty looking Jungkook.

“Nothing! I did nothing!” Raising your eyebrow, studying his face you watched as he quickly glanced down at his phone.

“You phoned Yoongi!”

“W..w…what?” He stammered, gulping.

“Jungkook.” You groaned. “He’s under pressure, I understand that he won’t remember what day it is.”

“But, you were crying earlier.”

“Just leave it okay, if he doesn’t remember I still love him, and nothing will change that.

“I screwed up Namjoon.” Yoongi spoke, as he searched every pocket of every jacket he owned.

“How?”

“It’s my 3rd anniversary with Y/N, and I forgot, and now I can’t even find the ring.”

“You love her?” Namjoon gave a small smile as he watched his elder ransack his room looking for the most important gift he would ever give you.

“What kind of question is that? Of course I do.”

“Then you’ll need this.” Yoongi turned to see Namjoon with the black box in his hand.

“I hate you.” Yoongi grumbled, as he snatched the box from Namjoon and left.

“I wonder who that could be.” Jungkook grinned as he heard three knocks on your front door.

“I swear to god, if that’s Yoongi.” Rolling your eyes at a grinning Jungkook, you opened your eyes to a panting Yoongi.

“I thought you were at the studio?”

“I finished for the day, let’s go.” He spoke, as he started to drag you out of the apartment.

“Wait! I can’t leave Jungkook here.” You protested, looking back at Jungkook.

“I’m fine, you go, have fun.” You finally gave in, following Yoongi to an ice cream shop.

“This is where we’re going?” You ask, looking up at the neon shop sign.

“Yeah is that okay?” Yoongi nervously asked.

“It’s fine, it just wasn’t what I was expecting. You were kind of in a rush to get here.”

“Come on.” Taking your hand again Yoongi dragged you once more into the shop.

“It looks like it’s going to rain.” You commented to a silent Yoongi, looking up at the black clouds above you both. The last hour or so, Yoongi was unusually quiet, and distant. Giving short answers, he was fascinated with something in his pocket. Just now, you had made him stop at a bench outside the store. Turning to him, you notice how nervous he looked.

“Yoongi what’s wrong?”

“Nothing’s wrong, what makes you say that?”

“Because you’re sweating like a pig at a barbecue. We’ve been together for 3 years, I can take anything.” That’s when it hit you, was he going to break up with you? Is that why he forgot today, and why he could barely look at you? Sighing he stood up, walking in front of you.

“What are you doing?”

“Just let me.” Taking a deep breath, he shakily took out a black box. As if by magic, rain started to pour.

“Yoongi.” You whispered. Pushing his hair out of his eyes, he spoke.

“I love you, I have had the best 3 years with someone who completely understands me, and loves me for who I am. So…will you marry me?” Quickly, though it seemed like an eternity for Yoongi, you answered.

“Yes, of course, I will!” Grinning, he slipped the ring of your finger before placing his lips on yours.

“You didn’t think I forgot today did you?” Yoongi asked, giving a loving smile, as he watched you admire the ring.

“Jungkook told you didn’t he?”

“No.” Yoongi stubbornly replied. You gave a laugh, pulling him closer to you. Neither of you caring about the rain that had now completely drenched you both.
