They’re two different things, what he’s meant to do and what he has come here for. He didn’t come to be head sommelier. He arrived at Les Mignardises prickling with an itch that Connor called curiosity, a parched need to understand the kind of person who could make a dish like that. Nothing done in halves. Gavin in exile at Zabuton, 30 miles outside of Detroit, the crackle scent of salt and smoke hanging heavy in the dining room, even before he emerged from the kitchen with a plate full of slaughter.

Fic is now finished– and accompanied by this wrap-up art of a group of incredible idiots. Things that delight me about what’s going on here: 1. That Fowler deigned to stand on a milk crate or something with the rest of the back row, only to have the occasion devolve into unbearable shenanigans as usual; 2. That Nines is definitely slipping Gavin tongue; and 3. That it’s not immediately clear who took the photo, so I assume that it was Allen.

GO 👏 THE 👏 FUCK 👏 OFF. Also, the American educational system is trash. I applaud this child’s parents for giving her a voice and standing up against bias authority.
