I: Guilty pleasures

Admittedly, I am a SUCKER for when a character finally snaps. Be it emotionally or physically, but that final release of pint up anger/anguish/pain/saddness I just,,, MWAH

But only if it’s done right and paced properly ^^

Oh! And I can’t help but love me those good soft moments in a recovery or sick fic. When the entire world seems to be beating down on the two mains but one (or both) just won’t let it happen to their (insert relationship here).

(Also transformations. Happens less in fics (besides blaster ones) bUT STILL)

K: Angstiest Idea I’ve come up with:

*Loud glance at Chapter 6 of Because She Died* Well.....

Truth be told, probably a fic I was considering when in the process of story(hah) boarding BSD. It was called Last Two Standing, and would’ve been about a Banished Queen ending gone wrong. Baisically, Undyne and the folks invading the castle go all French Revolution on Tori’s ass, leaving only Dyne and Sans left alive.

The rest of the story would follow Undyne hard core regretting what happened and Sans inevitably running to the ruins because he’s lowkey wanted for treason (tried to break Tori out. Didn’t work. Made another promise).

The whole thing felt WAY too similar to BSD, and kinda out of character and mean spirited. So, I scrapped the idea fairly early on. I think it only made it to the concept art/doodle page stage of my planning process lMAO

Either that, Chapters 3 and 6 (and eventually 19 and 22 ;)) of BSD, or the shit me and my friends came up with in 5th grade lMAO

U: 3 favorite Fic writers

Oh man! This is a hard one!!! There’s so many to choose from, but I believe I can narrow it down, though I had to expand it to 5!

1. @a-conveniently-shaped-lamp ! They’re writing is so distinct and lovely. I haven’t quite binged all of their fics, but the ones I have read are too notch! They’re characterization is just so on point and aaaaAAAA!! I highly recommend their fic ‘Let’s Do the Mortal Coil’. Might be cause I’m a slut for body swap, but it’s some good shit.

2. @undertalethingems ! I haven’t been able to catch up on Bark At The Moon as of late, but it’s a really good fic. Their words never fail to drag me head first into a story, and I love how they write Undyne. Also big bone pubbies :)

3. @undertalewasagoodgameokay ! She hasn’t posted many of her fics, but man oh man are they good! Her writing is breath taking, and her use of allusion and imagery never ceases to amaze me. Also shes my sibling and I love her dearly!

6. @sugarweregoingdownswinging ! She doesn’t write and UT fics, but her Myst fics are just outstanding. Once again, amazing imagery and this elegant floating writing style that made me crave more. Heck, I read her fics before I even knew what they were about! (btw B if you’re reading this, yes I am still reveling at your Achnar hurt comfort fic)

5. Honestly Blaidd.... you. I love your work! I binged your AO3 Gaster askblog in Target the other day lmao. I love how you portray him, and his plights with being in the void. Home boy makes me sad. Also your Soriel fic makes me all warm and fuzzy inside ^^

6 because I couldn’t leave them off this list-: @smollest-soul has improved so much since they first started sending me their fic. Like, don’t get me wrong their characterization was already on point and I love their style, but like, it got even better! I’m proud of you dude!

Nice Cream Guy?

Yes!!! I love this funky lil rabbit dude!!

• How I feel about this character: As stated before ‘I love this funky lil rabbit dude!!’. There’s just something so absolutely endearing about him??? Idk, I can’t help but love him! Definitely one of my favorite non mains!

• Who I ship with this character: I’m a slut for NicePants. The pessimist and the optimist,,,, it’s so good.

• My brOTPs for this character: I think Nice Cream Guy and Papyrus would make good friends! They both have a similar positive outlook on life, they both come into a lot of trouble with meeting their goals, idk, I just think it’s work out good! I also like to think that Nice Cream Guy, RG1, and RG2 end up becoming friends, and he (inadvertently) starts to third wheel on their dates.

• A head cannon I have about this character: He’s not a bunny! He’s actually a hare! I mean, look at those long ears and legs, not to mention the more slim body plane ^^.

Oh also the excessive niceness is both his costumer service face and a genuine attitude he holds. But, once you get to know him abit better, he can be quite sassy and curt, even if he’s in the nature of spreading smiles!

• Unpopular opinion about this character: He’s not excessively happy. Like, yeah, no one is, but a good portion of the time Nice Cream Guy seems rather down trodden. I mean, at his first entrence in the game we see how rough his business has been, not to mention the ‘Going Out of Buesness Sale’. That’s gotta be rough. Plus, he seems to be a prime example of Snowden’s integral message to the game: Being good to others and trying to make the best of a bad situation is sometimes all you CAN do. He’s kinda the first we see of that. It makes me pretty certain of his iron will to spread happiness.

• The one thing I wish would happen in cannon with this character: I wanna hear him and burgerpants talk more! And it’s not just because I kinda ship it! I like their dynamic,,,,, also I just kinda want to see the venders talking to eachother. Wouldn’t make sense in cannon, and for a 3 time appearance character I think Nice Cream Guy is in there just enough, bUT STILL

You thought about writing a GasterBlaster AU fic? Do you remember what it would have been about?

Oh man, do I ever! The one I refrence in post was back when I was in like 5th or 6th grade, right after the Undertale fandom really took off. It was actually my first try at fanfiction, and as most tries are, not very good! But hey, everyone starts somewhere!

The basic plot was pretty genteric, with Sans starting to turn into a Blaster because of a timeline error. That was about it. Him trying to hide it in increasingly worse written ways. Never made it past the first couple paragraphs lMao.

Admittedly tho, I’ve had a recent idea for a fic, mostly cause I was thinking about the subject. Instead of timeline shenanigans, the origins of the blaster piece would be way tamer (accident in lab resulting in a fusing with attack, just a skeleton thing, magical overload, Badster, etc.) and not entirely the focus of the story.

Instead, it’d be about Toriel and Sans trying to cope with thier losses in the Roomies ending, all the while the heightened emotions and grief taking a toll on Sans’s magical state. Boom badabang, werewolf hurt comfort.

It’s just an idea that may never actually get off the ground, but hey, it’s something! I’ve got a lot of fics going on right now, but man oh man, do I like the vibes. Have a good night!
