If I seem sad it's because I'm thinking about how Polnareff lost his entire family before he even hit his 20's, and upon hearing that, Avdol was the only crusader to immediately accept that he wanted to join them. Just thinking about how at the end of their battle, anyone else would have left Polnareff to burn to death, but Avdol didn't. Do you ever think about how Avdol was the first person who offered friendship to Polnareff in three years? And then between episodes 5 and 10 you constantly see them near each other, even if they don't seem to be getting along. How Polnareff searched for a romantic relationship everywhere because he felt that's all he would be able to have. How they regularly teased each other for little things. How Polnareff thought he got one of his only friends killed because of his own selfish actions, after being told that he'd end up getting hurt. How he asked Avdol to take him to dinner if they got out alive. How Avdol agreed without hesitation. How Avdol knew saving Polnareff would lead to his death and he did it anyway. How he made Polnareff promise not to save him, but didn't hesitate to do it himself when it was Polnareff's life on the line. How Polnareff fought driven by anger over losing the first person to care about him in years. How he watched two of his only friends die within an hour of one another. How he didn't let fear overtake his want of revenge. How they never once gave up on each other no matter what they were up against.

Oh yeah and I think Jotaro and Kakyoin seem a little fruity, too.
