I felt silly again, I’ll get back to work dw
S! Dogday angst
Disclaimer: Self-harm
Footsteps were heard through the forest as a certain chicken walked through it. He didn’t plan on going inside today but his eye caught a particular orange friend running into it. Due to his curiosity, he of course went and followed him.
Why’d he go inside? And in such a hurry nonetheless, as his #1 friend he’s definitely worried… About what he’s doing without him, that dog’s a pushover, he knows full well he wouldn’t do anything alone.
He got lost halfway running through the trees and bushes, eventually he got that orange dog back to his sight and followed from a distance. After a while, he stops walking and sits under a tree as he leaned on it.
Kickin had an idea, he could prank him, the opportunity’s right there after all. He slowly closed the distance between the two of them as he sneaked behind the tree he was under.
He lightly snickered, thinking about his reaction. As he got ready to surprise him, a noise made him stop in his tracks. He could hear… Small sniffling.. Is he crying?
What is he crying about? Did Bubba refuse to speak to him? Did Picky insult his fashion choice? Maybe Catnap attacked him again? What’s his deal? Doesn’t those happen all the time? He should get used to it by now.
The sniffling increased followed by hiccups and sobbing. This really put a damper on his mood. Now he doesn’t even want to try surprising the guy. He’d probably go all emotional on him.
As the chicken started contemplating to go back, he started picking up more noises. What sounds to be scratching… He turned his attention back to the dog who had his claws out and fully engulfed into his skin.
“… you’ll be okay… you’ll be okay… you can do it… you got this… you got this…” He kept repeating those words as he kept scratching himself, blood started trickling down his arm as he trembled and shook his head.
The chicken could only watch, frozen in place as he wasn’t sure what to do. He’s never exactly seen him like this. He was always sunshine and rainbows, smiling despite everything…
His eyes were locked onto the canine for a while until he finally stopped hurting himself. He slowly placed his hands down as he took deep breaths. He looked up to the trees and the sky… a small laugh escaping him.
“… I can… I can do this… I can do this…” he took another deep breath before he stood up and started to go back while mumbling to himself about renewing his bandages.
He walks past Kickin who was still in a state of shock and confusion. What the hell was that about?… He wasn’t sure what to think.
He stayed there for a while until he finally snapped out of it and went back.

Hello,
I am Yahya from northern Gaza. I have a family and young children, and we have been suffering from poverty since the beginning of the war. My children have been deprived of life, safety, and peace. I hope I do not lose my children in this war.
Help me and my family stay alive.
our family wants to leave Gaza for a better life, where our children can grow up without fear and continue their education in peace
My little daughter Mira is intelligent, loves to play, read, and write. She dreams of a peaceful childhood away from bombs, destruction, and wars.
Dima, my other daughter, is very smart and loves studying and swimming. She is a bright and beautiful child, and her future looks promising if she can survive the war. I hope to protect her life and future.
My only son, Anas, is 3 years old. He is brave, loves to play a lot, laughs, and fills the world with joy. I hope to protect their lives from genocide.
Thanks for your support, and I'm grateful for any help you can give me during this difficult time.

says “I’m not getting my diploma at graduation Myself and 3 other seniors were notified that UChicago won’t confer our degrees at graduation this weekend. Despite finishing 4 rigorous and excruciating years of undergrad This comes off the heels of the university already having me and other students arrested & criminalized. The 4 of us have been targeted for “possibly” participating in campus-wide protests which a large majority of our student body has. We assumed we’d have criminal records before degrees. And now we might not even have that We’ve done the work. We deserve our degrees. Standing on the side of justice shouldn’t negate that. Sign, call, write to tell UChicago this is not okay. We need more support.” Go to his profile and click in the link in his bio for a quick way to contact the University.
I'm Nour Alanqar, and reaching out to you during a time of unimaginable hardship. I am 26 years old, married to Ashraf Ismail, who is 32, and together we have three beautiful children: Hussein, 6, Rajaa, 5, and Youssef, just 10 months old. Our lives have been turned upside down by the devastating war in Gaza, and we desperately need your help.
My daughter Rajaa is a radiant beam of sunshine, bringing boundless joy, warmth, and love to everyone she meets.
On a dark night at the beginning of the war, our area was subjected to massive bombing. The explosions reached our home, forcing us to flee into the night, running amidst periodic explosions and searching for survival. We made our way to southern Gaza by morning, seeking refuge in Rafah.
This is our home, filled with our memories and moments of joy and happiness, now reduced to rubble. Its destruction shattered our hearts.
In Rafah, we found shelter in a crowded warehouse filled with strangers, all of us struggling to find basic necessities like food, water, safety, and cleanliness. Despite these challenges, we were again hit by direct bombardment. My husband was injured in the shoulder, and the scene around us was filled with blood and corpses. The cries of my children in those moments still echo in my head.
A fragment of what it once was, and now, what it has become.
We moved several times to places described as safe, only to face new tragedies. During this period, my precious daughter Raja contracted hepatitis, adding to our suffering.
It was incredibly difficult for me to endure these disasters, especially as I was in the process of giving birth. Youssef was deprived of proper breastfeeding and the necessary nutrition for his age. Hussein's right to education and a safe childhood have been cruelly taken from him.
My baby Youssef, whom I clung to throughout the war, running with him through the rubble of shattered homes to escape.
At an age when Hussein should have been enjoying his childhood, all his rights were taken away from him.
Our situation is dire, and we need your support to rebuild our lives and provide a future for our children. Your kindness and generosity can make a profound difference. Your contributions will help us secure safe shelter, access to medical care, and the basic necessities of life.
Please, consider helping us during this critical time. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to safety, stability, and a chance to rebuild our lives.
