Atheist vampires
She was turned before jesus, before Muhammad, before Abraham. She has seen gods born, bringing cults, prosperity and hope; they watch as the cycle repeats. The inevitable screams of the first to die for a being that doesn't exist and could never care. She has seen people kill for gods, and in turn she has seen the gods die. Some die slowly and silently- others others go out screeching and bloodied- still ending in the same void the forgotten gods go to die.
She wanted to believe, but she had walked the earth before Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva's names had been spoken. But believing in a deity who cursed her to traverse a people that kill those who they claim to be holy is not one she could believe. Not when she has lived long enough to know the cruelty of men and has sustained herself on the blood they spilt.
