Cultural appropriation and closed practices

Cultural appropriation is a big problem in the witchcraft and paganism community, with people who smudge with white sage (which is a closed practice) and people miss using a variety of other practices from other cultures. Do research! make sure whatever rituals and practices you have are ones that aren't closed or appropriating.

As practitioners of magic, it's our responsibility to do the proper research.Dont only rely on witchcraft books or your mentors look at the history of the practice. Find multiple trustworthy sources. Do the work to find out if it's really something you should be doing. If you take your practice seriously, you should take the research part very seriously, too.
