the two of you wonder how long you'll dance around each other like this. you wonder how long you'll have to fantasize about doing all of the couple-y things you want to do before you're finally allowed to do them. maybe it'll continue forever. you might have to watch each other unhappily marry women, because that's what's supposed to make you happy, right? women. not each other. two men in a relationship would be looked down upon by society.

and neither of you want the other to go through that kind of pain. so you just settle with watching from afar.
