Today I Woke Up And Chose Chaos So Y'all Get To Listen To Me Rant About Something From My Childhood That
Today I woke up and chose chaos so y'all get to listen to me rant about something from my childhood that haunts me to this day.
When I was a child I lived in an old wooden house that didn't have any glass. All the doors and shudders were solid wood and the windows were just screens. Because of this plenty of random bugs and animals would end up getting into the house. This was always very annoying but there was one animal that always terrified me to my very core: the tokay gecko.
This little shit:

Now some strange people out there may think it's cute. But you know what's not cute? This 12" thing staring at you from your bedroom ceiling screaming at you at 3 in the morning. I cannot put its call into words but let me just say that the sound it produces rattles your very bones and sends chills down to your soul.
My parents once told me a story about a neighbour's cat's encounter with one of these things in order to stop me from trying to pet one. The thing to note about tokay geckos is that when they bite you their gaw locks, stopping them from being able to let go. So this cat got bit by a gecko, freaked out, and then ripped the entire body off its leg. The thing was that the head was still attached to the cat. So when the owner got home that night they saw their long-haired white Persian cat covered in gecko blood with the head still attached to his arm. The only way the owner was able to remove the head was by taking a screwdriver and prying it open.
So anyway that was my childhood.

I need to know if this movie played an integral part in your childhoods like it did mine ngxngxg
This was one of those films that played on literal repeat for me and my family friends as a kid — though my parents always skipped the R.O.U.S scene bc they thought it was too scary 💀 I turned out to be a huge weenie, so maybe they were right lmao
It’s been on my mind a lot recently, since I finished reading As You Wish by Cary Elwes, the guy who played Wesley! Highly recommend it if you are interested in hearing about the making-of this iconic movie 👀👌✨
Trans afab ace culture is not knowing if you don't like those things on your chest because you are not a woman or because they are so sexualized
