3DS Thoughts
I love the system so far and I anticipate a lot of cool/strong titles coming out for it (the main reason getting it being the games, rather than the titular 3D gimmick.. I'm still honestly happy with my DSi), but the 3D effect makes my eyes do a nauseating backflip due to my amblyopia. (it doesn't function as two distinctive vision sensors in regards to direction because my right eye follows the focused left, so my depth perception is kind of awful and doesn't work well with the screen's parallax barrier) It's more comfortable when I leave the 3D effect off.
Ironically, even if my eyes have that condition, apparently many fellow art-focused people have something similar, which actually benefits them when drawing pictures on 2D surfaces (screens, paper), the truncated degree of depth perception helps them put lines to the surface more "accurately" than a person with better depth perception. It's really interesting how that works, I think.
I got two titles for the 3DS! Luigi's Mansion, which I've been playing on and off (it's a lot like the first, but it integrates a lot of new gameplay elements that keeps it fresh) and I finished Layton 5 (Miracle Mask), recently. oh my god, so many feelings, it was so good, but I got spoiled for this game really badly, so I expected most of the major plot twists... it still didn't make the story any less sad, but I hope I can fanart for it someday.
Now I'm just waiting on some commission payment so I can get Animal Crossing: New Leaf and play with friends, aww jeah.
[AUDIBLE GASP] I FRIEND SHIP IT, THREE. (yes) friendship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I friend!ship you with 0chromat ;w;
so do I :’D

I still can’t get over this it’s so adorable

Experimental sketch thing- 45 min - 1hr 30 min??...The flow of this piece was interrupted several times (parents wuu) so I don't know the exact timer (and about 3/4ths of the way through i realized my brush was on a wonky setting) but I managed to salvage it to a sort of presentable state.., colorwise I initially wasn't sure what i wanted either so the values are shittier here, but I think the end result is OK....
for awhile I've been thinking about making an ongoing/sporadically updating comic that strictly features episodes between these two just for fun (it'd most likely be slice of life/interpersonal stuff with drops of action/comedy/drama/sci-fi/supernatural etcetc with a big overarching plot), but Idk how people would receive it or if it'd be of interest
drawing bs
I'm thinking of changing up my drawing style, particularly in the vein of creating comics- my style for "serious art" has developed into something that is way too stiff and detail intensive for my liking... It can still stand to be developed further into something that translates more fluidly and still be (even more) anatomically (approximately) "correct", but I also love how some people can streamline forms so easily while maintaining the integrity of the muscle structure. Right now it's a strange concoction of eastern something and western something else.... I don't mind straddling the fence between an approximate stylization and approximate realism at the moment, but I think I want to try leaning harder in either direction more clearly, instead of having this muddy cloud of indefinite... style definition lol
