Day four of drawing a new expression each day! :D

This time I wanted to draw a startled or apprehensive character, and I think I managed to get the point across decently ^-^

I watched a few episodes of Peaky Blinders right before getting started on this, and I think he ended up looking a little like Cillian Murphy as a result lmao, I had to give him blue eyes after realising that

(the hair is also very influenced by a character in the series, Arthur Shelby Jr to be specific)

I've decided that I'm gonna try to draw up a quick expression every day as practice, so here's number one! ^-^

Well, number two if you count my latest little drawing lol

He kinda looks like Cherry Blossom from SK8, I realised just now bahahaha

Here he is!! The finished boy!! :D

May I present, twenty-something-year-old Pirate Captain Jim Hawkins:

Along with some close-ups and fun facts, of course, the latter of which will be under the cut ^-^

The cross necklace is actually a small reference to a real pirate, who lived during the golden age of piracy! Bartholomew Roberts was known to wear a diamond-encrusted gold cross around his neck ^-^

The moon pendant is, - surprise surprise - a reference to Montressor Spaceport :] (and the diamond of course represents Montressor itself)

I've also given him a blue long coat, party because blue actually was one of the colours that commonly appeared in pirate attire, but also as a little homage to Captain Amelia, since that felt like a very in-character thing for Jim to do. The red details in his get-up aren't there for no reason, either, as he wears them in memory of Mr. Arrow

This doodle was so incredibly fun to make, and there weren't really any major hiccups anywhere along the way!

I'm most happy with his face and the red sash around his waist. I'm extremely satisfied with how the lighting ended up making it look like a very luxurious fabric, just like I wanted it to :]

What is that weird cluster of glowing orbs, you ask? I have no idea lmfao

Here's daily expression number five ^-^

This is obviously just a very rough WIP, and it wasn't originally supposed to be part of this little series in the first place, but I really like how his expression turned out so I figured why not? :]

The poor boy hasn't been given nearly enough reasons to smile, so I just had to take it upon myself to fix that! I wanted to see a real giddy, gummy smile from our favourite angsty solar surfer, and I think I managed to capture it really well, personally ^-^

As for the full picture, I might have him on the side of a ship, looking at something that piqued his interest off in space. I'm not quite sure yet bahahaha
