I fucking despise when things fake being higher quality than they are. I don't mean like slapping a slightly misspelled brand name onto an identical non-designer product for purely aesthetic reasons I mean like rivets or thread that are actually glued down rather than punched or stitched. Fake pockets on jeans that are actually just an extra seam. Heavy looking chain that's plastic or very soft flimsy metal rather than anything sturdy. I bought boots which looked like they had a stitched sole 8 months ago and lo and behold the glue holding the sole on is revealing itself by falling apart. You PUT a STITCH IN THERE. YOU HAD THE NEEDLE AND THREAD. AND YOU DIDNT ACTUALLY STITCH DOWN THE FUCKING SOLES. Oh it makes me so mad. Cheap cunts taking the aesthetics of durability or practicality while handing you a product that won't last you the year

In regards of secret santa 2023:

Sooo...

I really don't know where to start. I know it's been... a while. Please don't yell at me!

Secret santa last year was... kinda messy, for several reasons.

The two major issues:

The technical problems on my end which caused a delay, aaaand my decision to not set a deadline because of said delay.

I know some of you didn't receive a gift and I wanna apologize to those who were affected. I'M SO VERY SORRY, GUYS!!!

I know at the end of the day I'm not responsible for other people's actions and there can be several reasons why your secret santa never posted your gift. But let's be real, it sucks that some of you spent their time creating a piece of writing/art and never got anything in return, which again I'm very sorry for.

But I still think hosting a secret santa for our community was a great idea, which brings me to my question:

It‘s scary to see how very important european petitions get no visibility whatsoever. We had a basic income petition last year which failed because not enough people knew about it. Now we have a „tax the rich“ one that only lasts until october this year and only has around 250k out of 1 mio. signings.

Most EU people go through their every day life w/o knowing about them. There are no ads, no marketing…nothing. I know that costs money though one might think important petitions that lead to a better and progressive life would be supported by the government or ministries in some way, but nooooo

And why should they? It’s petitions that would help out the poor and middle class, but endanger capitalism and their exploitation, sooo: government and business leads for example.
