The world is vast, and you are so, so small..

Blades of grass tower overhead, buildings seem impossibly larger, and yet...

It is comforting, to you. When you work your way up the ivy covered side of the building, sitting in the windowsill. Here, you are safe from the world. You can look over more of it than you’d ever walked.

And when the window opens, you are carefully picked up, brought into a smothering kiss, and held close. Loved more than you’d ever imagined. You shouldn’t be seen, but you don’t care. You hold tightly to the hand that holds you, smiling as you bury your cheek into their thumb. You’re safe, and cared for when you want to be.

And they love you, too. They tell you oh so often that they love you. And of course, you tell them the same. You love them, and the care they provide you. And as they set you gently into a hammock made just for your tiny form, you’re reminded just how similar you are.

They sink into their own hammock below you, and you roll over to stare down at them. Standing, you’re no taller than their foot, but from here, you can see them all. Their bright eyes, kind smile, their wonderful hair...

This human cares about you, and you them. And you wouldn’t trade that for anything.
