he’s the best husband while you’re recovering. jeonghan makes sure that you don’t push yourself and that you get enough rest, and he manages to take care of your baby as well as all the household duties

jeonghan hates when she cries. he’ll manage to drag himself out or bed or drop whatever’s in his arms to rush to her, and as soon as her teary eyes meet her dad’s worried one’s, she’s immediately smiling again

he loves doing all of the games like ‘got your nose’ and ‘here comes the aeroplane’. his baby is easily impressed so he does everything he can to see a smile on her face

jeonghan takes so much pride in bringing her out in public. he just loves pushing her in her stroller, sunglasses on, coffee in hand, while everyone can’t help but stop and comment on how cute his baby is

although he adores spending time with his little girl, jeonghan’s favourite time of the day is nap time. as soon as his baby girl starts showing any signs of sleepiness, he’s rushing her to her crib and falling asleep in his own bed within the span of a minute

jeonghan absolutely spoils his little girl. she gets anything she wants and more. her playroom is literally overflowing and you have to remind him that there’s no room left when he returns home one day with his hands full of toys

he wants to teach her as much as he can even when she’s still only little. he loves to read to her and take her to different places so that she can learn about the world around her

jeonghan doesn’t cry that much at each milestone, but when she reaches her first birthday the emotions overtake him. his members tease him for being so emotional all day, but he’s in disbelief that his baby is already a year old and it hits him that she’s grown up (even though she’s barely walking lol)

as she grows up, jeonghan is super close with his daughter. he’s the ‘don’t tell your mother’ type of dad and he helps her get away with a lot of stuff. however jeonghan is still pretty good with discipline, because he thinks it’s super important for her to know right from wrong

but since she’s jeonghan’s daughter, she’s very smart and can be a little cheeky. even when he has to scold her a part of him is still quite proud of how much his daughter takes after him. it sometimes scares him when she is able to think of lies so easily (but her dad is yoon jeonghan so she’ll never get away with it)

“Are you sure you really don’t wanna do anything today?” Mingyu asked for the umpteenth time that morning, a pout on his face as he pulled you closer to his side of the bed and rested his chin on your shoulder

You giggled at the persistence. Truth be told, he’s asked you this question since weeks ago. “Yeah, Gyu. I’m sure.”

“But why? It’s your birthday, you can’t just do nothing.”

“Yes, I can. If I wanna just lay here the whole day with you then I will.”

“But why?”

You giggled a bit more, he seriously sounded like one of those 5 year olds who just keep asking ‘why?’. You turned to your side to snuggle into him, one leg intertwining with his, “because… you’re just so nice… and soft.”

“I’m not soft!” He said in fake offense, “Have you felt these muscles?” Mingyu flexed everything he could manage to prove a point but it only made you break into fits of giggles.

Except you had kindly requested him to set them tomorrow, the day after your birthday. Today, you just wanted to relax and curl up against your boyfriend, and not be pressured about dressing up, and being on time to things, or entertaining guests at a birthday party.

“This is really killing you, huh?” You chuckled.

“Yes” was the clear answer he gave, “i just… i just don’t want you to look back on this birthday and think, ‘wow we did nothing,’ or feel like you wasted your day-“

“Hey, being with you on my birthday is the total opposite of wasting my day. After last year, this is honestly the best birthday gift I could have.”

Mingyu tried to recall what you meant by ‘last year,’ and then he remembered that last year, he wasn’t even with you on your special day. He was on tour, and he still remembers how you cried silently to him on the phone, frustrated about how you had to work on your birthday, stuck in the office for a full 12hours to prepare for a stupid presentation that no one really ever cared about. It finally clicked in his head, last year’s birthday was exhausting and lonely for you. Maybe this slow down was truly all you needed.

“Angel?” Mingyu asked after a few breaths as he lazily drew patterns on your back.

“Yeah?”

“Will you kill me if I ask you to watch me bake your birthday cake downstairs? Or can that still count as doing nothing?”

You looked up at the sheepish smile Mingyu was sporting, the crinkles in his eyes appearing when you craned your neck to kiss him. Though your boyfriend wasted no time to part your lips and bring you closer, everything about the kiss was soft and gentle. The kind that took your breath away but also made you feel like everything in the world was okay as long as you had him. sees your lips wobble when you say hello to him, and he eventually coaxes the issue out of you: your friends had ditched a get-together you’d been planning at the last minute, and they didn’t even have the decency to apologize for it. he feels extremely angry on your behalf and is ready to curse. doesn’t do it only because it won’t help you.

thinks about what he can do to make you happy. asks if he can take you out on a drive tonight so you can watch the stars with him. when you regretfully decline the offer, he asks if you want to create a blanket fort and watch movies or go to sleep.

it’s not long before he’s constructing a blanket fort for the first time in his life thanks to some youtube tutorials. he’s upset when it collapses right in the middle of constructing it, but he realizes he’d build it a hundred times more if it meant you’d laugh the way you just did.

sets up snacks and your favourite drinks after a while. keeps apologizing to you on behalf of your so-called friends till you tell him to stop. promises that he’s always going to be with you, and that you don’t have to be sad when you’re with him. falls asleep with you in his arms, and a smile on your face, snacks and movies forgotten.

better with actions than words, so he kisses your forehead and trails you around the house while you try to relax from the day you had. if you’re really sad, he lets you just rest your head against his collarbone and breathe till you feel better.

another one who has no problem with prolonged eye contact. he looks at you till you understand that he loves you more than he can say and that he’s always there for you when you feel like this.

always used to being babied by his older brothers, so he feels happy to get a chance to take care of you. just doesn’t like the fact that you’re sad, because you deserve to be anything but.

very transparent with his affection for you. he whispers “i love you” into your hair when you ask him for a hug, shouts it across the living room when you come out to get some water, and holds your hand under the table during dinner even if it’s inconvenient.

if you’re really down, and don’t feel like talking, he bundles you into a blanket and puts you on the sofa and sits close to you, so that you have your space but he’s close enough if you need him.

sits with you while you work and watches intently even if he doesn’t understand much of what you’re doing. ready to go to the store and get you anything you’re craving, regardless of how late it is.
