It's Really Sick And Sad That A Lot Of People Who Claim To Be "Pro-Palestinian" Are Essentially Screaming

It's really sick and sad that a lot of people who claim to be "Pro-Palestinian" are essentially screaming at Israel, "Why aren't you killing more Palestinians so we can hate you for it!?"

There's an EU initiative going on right now that essentially boils down to wanting to force videogame publishers with paid games and/or games with paid elements such as DLC, expansions and microtransactions to leave said games in a playable state after they end support, or in simpler terms, make them stop killing games.

A "playable state" would be something like an offline mode for previously always online titles, or the ability for people to host their own servers where reasonably possible just to name some examples.

I don't think I need to tell anyone that having something you paid for being taken from you is bad, which is a thing that routinely happens with live service and other always online games with a notable recent example being The Crew which is now permanently unplayable.

Even if you're not European or you signed it already, you can share this initiative with anyone who is, even if they don't care about videogames specifically because this needs a million signatures and there is different thresholds that need to be met for each EU country for their votes to even count and could also be a precedent for other similar practices like when Sony removed a bunch of Discovery TV content people paid for.

Okay, I'm going to go out on a limb here and make what is apparently a radical ethical statement.

If someone's response to hearing of the October 7th mass murder of Israelis was to celebrate or applaud or otherwise express joy, they're an antisemite. Period.

If someone's response to 10,000 dead Gazans was to celebrate or applaud or otherwise express joy, they're an Islamaphobe. Period.

In general, if you hear about thousands of people dying for being in the wrong place at the wrong time or being born to the 'wrong' group, and your reaction is "HUZZAH!", you are a horrible person.

The misnamed Jewish Voice for Peace chapter at the University of Michigan posts pro-Hezbollah and pro-terrorist messages on its Instagram page. The worst one that I saw today was this one, reposted from an account called @disorientalizing - calling for the complete destruction of Israel.

I wonder if there are actually any Jews who belong to this JVP chapter. I guess I can understand anti-Zionism intellectually, but calling for the whole country to be burned to the ground - how could Jews wish this for other Jews in Israel? Or am I simply too naive to understand this?
