Friendly reminder that Maiden flares depends on Aura colors, not eye colors. It just happens that Winter, Penny and Raven's eye colors and Aura colors are the same. But Amber had brown eyes and her flares were orange (like her Aura).

Let's just say, imagine if Nora became a Maiden: then her flares, theorically, should be pink, not teal. Same with Ruby (red flares, not silver) or Yang (yellow flares, not lilac or red) or Blake (purple, not yellow) or Eme-- actually, I don't think we've ever seen Emerald's Aura break??? (Or maybe yes, idk, I can't remember) so I have no idea which color it is. Probably green, but it could be red or even white for all I know...

Whatever, y'all get my point.

“Sam, I don’t like this idea. Can I please go home?” You asked, looking up at the new Captain America. The two of you had been friends for years, considering he was like a brother to Riley, while Riley was your actual brother. After his death, Sam took you under his wing, both figuratively and literally.

“C’mon, it’s just drinks. Sarah got a babysitter and I think we all need a break for a night, don’t you?” He asked, pulling the door open and holding it as you walked in. You loved Sarah, but you were nervous about meeting Bucky. Anxiety always ruined good things for you and having social anxiety didn’t help. Talking to new people was hard, but Sam promised to help you.

He led you through the busy tables over to a booth where Sarah and Bucky already sat. It was clear that bars were not your favorite place. Sarah grinned when she saw you, sliding over in the booth to make room for you.

“Hey, sweetheart,” she said as she hugged you, Sam taking a seat across from you beside Bucky. He gave a small wave, and that’s when you felt it.

With the soulmate flowers, the initial meeting always felt like a little prick. Similar to a single tattoo needle or thorn. Your flower was placed on the curve of your neck, near the collar of your shirt. Furrowing your brow, you brought a hand up and brushed your finger over the single little petal that appeared. Bucky’s eyes widened and he glanced to Sam.

“I...whoa,” you muttered, glancing at Sarah.

“You owe me ten,” she said with a grin as she held her hand out to Sam. He grumbled slightly about her always being right as he slapped a ten dollar bill into her palm.

“Are you serious?” Bucky asked, shaking his head at how ridiculous Sam was.

“What, you don’t feel it too?” Sam asked, shrugging.

“Uh...that was left in the Austrian Alps with my other arm so...” he muttered, looking away and finishing off his beer.

You chewed on the inside of your lip, feeling a bit odd. Was it his way of saying he wasn’t going to need a soulmate? That since he lost his arm, along with the flower, he didn’t get love anymore? Both Sam and Sarah saw your faces and gave each other a look. They stood up and made up some excuse to get drinks, leaving you with Bucky.

“So...” you started but Bucky interrupted you.

“I felt it. Not in my arm but...the nerves,” he said, patting his left shoulder. That perked up your attention.

“You think this could work? Even if bird brain thought of this?” You asked, hesitant.

Bucky grinned. “I uh...actually already thought of something.”

Two months into your relationship, Bucky got a tattoo in the same spot your flower started to sprout. With each petal that appeared on yours, he would add another to the tattoo.

Y/N: I'm just saying, technology is way overrated.

Bucky: That's interesting. Just yesterday you told me you intend to have your wedding in space.

Y/N: And that hasn't changed!
