Respectfully,
We should all about knight enchanter is the most hollow and pathetic imitation of the arcane warrior.
From all lore perspectives these should be the same class. Both are ancient elvan spellcasters who home their magic into sword play. But mechanically they differ so much.
Knight enchanter even pre nerfing puts a squishy mage into the thick of the battle with one high DPS hit per five attacks roughly. After the update it's one per minute maybe. But that one arcane blade strike is enough to make every enemy target you and you're still very very very squishy. The best knight enchanters get one attack and then have to run out of the battle.
Arcane warriors? They replace the tank. Your arcane warrior can wear the heaviest armors in the game without issue and yield the best long swords better than a rogue. The amount of damage the arcane warrior can take and deliver is game breaking.
Couple that with the passive and lingering effects available in origins and awakening it's possible to solo boss fights without casting a single spell in combat as an arcane warrior.
But more than anything it changes the effect of the lore. Arcane warrior elves were heros who could wade through the greatest battles ever seen. Knight enchanters are mages willing to throw themselves into the fray despite knowing it's a great risk to themselves.
Potential implication is that the ancient Dalish knight enchanters where the Inky is more likely being trained from were already an imitation of the arcane warriors. The elven ruins in dao are implied to be much older than the kingdom of halamshiral

Being both friendly and awkward is like a curse. (previous) <— . —> (next) (Pls, reblog and leave a comment if you like, I would really appreciate it c: )
If you’re an adult, do the stuff you couldn’t as a kid.
Like, me and my sister went to a museum, and they had an extra exhibit of butterflies. But it cost £3. So we sighed, walked past, then stopped. We each had £3. We could see the butterflies. And we did it was great. We followed it up with an ice-cream as well because Mum and Dad weren’t there to say no.
I was driving back from a work trip with 2 other people in their early 20s, and we drove past a MacDonalds. One of the others went “Aww man, I’d love a McFlurry.” And the guy driving pulled in to the drive through. It was wild. But it was great.
I went to a park over the weekend and I was thinking “Man, I’d love to hire one of those bikes and cycle round the park.” It took me a few minutes to go “Wait, I can hire one of those bikes!”
I guess what I’m saying is, those impulsive things you wanted to do as a kid - see the dinosaur exhibit, play in the fountains with the other kids, lie in the shade for 2 hours - you can do when you’re an adult. You have to deal with a whole lot of other bull, but at least you can indulge your inner 8 year-old.
When the unflappable character sees someone they care about in danger and the mask slips, it's great.
But when the unflappable character sees someone they care about in danger, and the mask DOESN'T slip.
Because they understand they need to be calm and unflappable now more than ever; if it protects them, it will certainly protect the person they care about. So their voice doesn't waver, their hands don't shake. They don't panic. From the outside looking in, they're as calm as could be. They handle it.
But after it's over-when the person they care about is safe, and the unflappable character is alone-they completely shatter. Gasping breaths, sobs, barely holding it together because someone they love almost DIED, and it was far, far too close for comfort.
(Optional: Character that they care about finds them in this state and comforts them.)
My Aura Trevelyan and her LI Zevran. Done by the ever awesome @savbakk Both versions are awesome and I love them so much!! Can’t wait to get to this part of my story!
