Gotta give Tom Sturridge credit for doing a hell of an acting job in the premiere when his job is to give a convincing hour-long performance while 1) mute, 2) naked, 3) in a fishbowlÂ

Whatâs art fight??

I was hoping Iâd get an ask like this so I had an excuse to go all out like this! Artfight is an annual art event that surrounds giving and getting art for a whole month!

once you make an account you can upload all your ocs and their information on your own page! This should include stuff like references and small bits of character info (enough for someone to draw them accurately). You need to have at least one OC uploaded to participate so people can draw art for you during Artfight (although i would say upload about 3 so people have choice.)

All people who sign up for Artfight that year get separated into two teams once the event begins (Iâm using red and blue as an example but they are usually stuff like sun vs moon, technology vs nature, coffee vs tea etc)

Once that happens people can make art of your OCs in exchange for points for their team! Yep! You get free art of your OCs!
But that means your team is now down a good few points so its not without consequence.

By drawing an OC that belongs to the opposite team for more points than the piece you were given your team is able to stay on top of the game and you also put some good out in the world in the process.

if you draw something for the person of the opposite team and they attack back you can get extra points for your team by starting a ârevenge chainâ its one of the best ways to get a point multiplier going and to start a friendship with someone who has cool characters!
So what happens when your team wins?

Your team all get a nifty little digital trophy, all the art development that comes with drawing competitively, the knowledge that youâve put a lot of good and happiness into the world by drawing peoples ocs, and complete ownership of bragging rights! (I personally developed my art style a whole lot during artfight last year! it was super fun!)
So what about when your team looses?

Well the reason why the other team won is because they gave your team the most art of your teams characters! So statistically you just got a whole bunch more free art than they did! Even if you donât get all the celebration and bragging rights you now have so much more amazing art of your characters!
So basicallyâŠ

I totally implore everyone who loves to do visual art to participate in artfight! Itâs an amazing event that challenges you in a great way and you get to be introduced to a lot of really amazing artists and make alliances with people on your team!
Hereâs the link to the website
Hereâs the link to my account on art fight if you want to check me out!
Keep in mind you donât have to participate in artfight once you make an account, you need to opt in for that year at any point during the month so you can absolutely just make an account to watch and look at the good art!

I see a lot of these when researching different Hanfu styles, and well they are helpful, they, and most everything I find, is womens hanfu related. Do you know of any good sites or resources related to mens hanfu?
First of all, please do not use this picture as a representation of Chinese historical clothing. Not only it was not accurate, it also mostly plagiarised works of a Chinese historian (髿„æâs book was very influential, although now we also knew that he made mistakes in his interpretation).
I thought menâs hanfu since I received this ask, dig around a bit and realised I have no idea whether there is a central hub for menâs hanfu.
On tumblr:
@ziseviolet has a section of tags dedicate to menâs wear.
@hanfugallery has a few posts on menâs headwear (x, x, x).
Elsewhere (in Chinese):
äžćäșçć° compiled 159 shops that sells menâs hanfu.
æą ćœ±è©©é-æą éȘçĄćâs compilation of modern hanfu contains quiet a few example of menâs clothing.
@æŹçćè and @æ·èłäž»äșș talked about menâs hanfu sometimes.
ææçŒć€§ć掟 focuses menâs hanfu. I did not watch all his videos but so far so good.
Excavation report collections (require baidu account and the app; or one could download them individually from cnki):
Tang dynasty
Song dynasty
Ming dynasty or this one
If anyone have better resources please feel free to add one. Thank you in advance.
Oof okay this is just me being a tad frustrated overall but:
I'm... pretty fed up with the situation on tumblr right now, not gonna lie. Yes this is about fics, and yes I do have the right to complain about it.
Because yes, I write for myself. That's absolutely true.
But I write everything what's happening in my head down for you, and writing takes a LOT of work. I would not be staying up late at night, typing sentences away on my phone or on my laptop if it wasn't for readers.
I would not be trying to make pretty sentences and come up with metaphors and check over grammar again and again and again if not for you.
I would not be editing my fics so much I almost cannot stand to look at them anymore to the point I question the quality of my writing if not for you.
Don't tell me stuff like "yes but we are reading it! There is no reason we should be forced to leave feedback" because that's not what I'm asking of you. That's absolutely NOT what I'm asking of you. I don't want to force you to do anything and in the end I cannot at all because I'm just a simple blog in my corner of the internet but it all boils down to this:
Give your writers exposure.
We work harder than you readers would ever know to get those stories you love out and it's so freaking hard to get it on paper. It takes so much energy and yes it also takes energy to comment, I understand.
But I assure you, taking the time to write a 20 word long comment is WAY less energy than the writer did to get 9000 words out with cohesive plot and creative writing.
So please, reblog. Reblog the fics you read. We writers depend on you.

41 Emotions as Expressed through Body Language UniqueÂ
This list, while exhausting, is soooo not exhaustive; it barely scratches the surface. And each entry could easily become clichĂ© (if it isnât already). But, it should be enough to get you started. Want more? Start watching people (not in a creepy way), and take notes of what they seem to do when expressing different emotions. Your repertoire of expression will double in no time. PSâdo not use these for actual, real-life body language reading; you will fail. These are strictly novelistic.

Attentive -Slow head nodding with a furrowed brow -Leaning forward, toward the speaker, and sitting up -Taking notes -Looking over the top of her glasses
Bored -Resting his head on his palm, peeking out between the fingers, maybe even slipping so his head âaccidentallyâ hits the table -Tapping toes, twirling pencil, doodling, and otherwise fidgeting -Staring out a window, or at anything remotely more interesting (Which is everything âŠ)

It is much nicer than yours.) -Dismissive hand-waving

Enjoy.) -Pouting or frowning (Iâll cry if you donât give me what I wantâdonât test me, I will!) -Crossed arms and other defensive/frustrated body language (I will not let that terrible idea influence me!)
Distressed -Wide eyes and shallow, rapid breathing -Beating the walls, or huddling into a corner -Clasping hands over his head protectively -Rocking himself -Handwringing -Running his hands through his hair
