Shadow the Hedgehog is raising a Dark Chao of his own. This Chao is distinct from other Dark Speed Chao because instead of having the black and red wings they usually have, they have purple bat wings. This chao has yet to be named, but has made regular appearances in Sonic Channel artwork for some time now.

Sonic IDW gave this chao a backstory, where they were in an abusive chao racing competition, where if they didn't win, they didn't eat, and were locked in a cramped cage. Cream frees these chao, and this one specifically follows Sonic and then stays with Shadow.
