Would Dee confide in Astarion, after proving that she was sent back in time, the reason WHY she was sent back in time? And he'd have to help her?

Hello!! Good question, actually.

I've been envisioning it that Dee actually would rather keep the truth to herself. The only reason anyone would know is if they figured it out themselves, which I feel like Gale would pick up on it just cause Smart Boy. I think she just would rather not burden people with the details. It was her mistake that killed Gale, after all. Her grief and regret that gained the attention of Mystra (if I choose to go down the getting the crown route) or fate/another deity (if I want to go down the fix-it grief AU route), so she would probably just keep it to herself and fix it all on her own.

However, that being said, I imagine that Dee would often seek Astarion out for comfort. Just talk to him about whatever, hear his sarcastic or insane answers to her questions, and be comforted to hear him. And maybe he would pick up on the fact that Dee is seeking his comfort somehow? And he would never outright admit it, maybe he doesn't even realize it himself or understand why, but he would try to cheer her up. Astarion may hate heroism or acts of random kindness, but I feel like even before he finally ends the cycle of abuse by not ascending and fully accepting himself, Astarion would probably be inclined to be more helpful and caring, especially for their little leader who's running herself ragged trying to keep everyone alive and safe.

For the 2 or 3 people who listen to the lore of my tavs, something has been cooking in my mind for a bit.

Dee's an Astarionmancer. She does love him dearly, I love the two of them so much. Lawful good detective x chaotic vampire gremlin? I love it

But then I do imagine she held a lot of grief over not being able to dissuade Gale from pursuing the crown, especially when he didn't know much about it or how to even control it, so the moment he picked up the pieces of the crown he instantly died. When she met his image at the reunion party and realized that the consequence of not getting to know him well enough, of not letting him read about the Annals of Karsus, was that she wouldn't be able to stop him from pursuing the crown and dying alone, I think she'd live with that guilt for the rest of her life. She would learn to eventually live with it, forgive herself, and live out the rest of her life with Astarion and die of old age.

But then what if she gets reincarnated back in time, and she realizes she can get to know Gale this time around? Be a better friend, know him better, listen to him, and truly understand him in a way she never did back then. What if she realizes how much she missed out on his company? How much she'd actually come to enjoy it?

What if in this AU, she starts to develop feelings for him, too? And she holds back. She feels like she's betraying the love she had for Astarion, even though that life is over and has reached its natural end?

Angst brainworms in an alternate universe where Dee gets to redo everything she failed to do in her past life.

Either that, or the idea that Dee's grief over unintentionally killing Gale being so great, that this carried over to my next Galemancing tavs/durge with the strong urge to protect him and keep him safe. Her strong platonic love for Gale carried over to Thalia, to Calliope, to Stelle and bloomed into romantic love for them.

I love Dee, my first BG3 OC.
