Spicecream Week 2019 day 3 Comfort/Hugs

Neo laid there not sure how her life had come to this, being conscripted by a sleeping witch to function as a makeshift teddy bear, but here she was, and Cinder hadn’t even had the decency to sleep glomp her in such a way as to as least let her enjoy it a little, she was shoved into Cinder’s neck the witch’s cheek resting on top of the tiny criminal’s head,

thoroughly done with this decidedly unsexy cuddling with the enemy Neo began trying to extract herself but this elicited a panicked whimper from Cinder who tightened her grip, Neo was about to power through this resistance when she heard Cinder’s voice “won’t lose you too...” she whispered in her sleep pain creeping in at the edge of her voice,

Neo looked up her nose burying into Cinder’s cheek and feeling something wet there, Neo didn’t know what was making Cinder cry but She wouldn’t wish crying alone on her worst enemy, Neo huffed and finally returned the witch’s embrace, and to her shock she felt tears of her own begin to flow, it occurred to her that she hadn’t had any physical contact in almost a year, and now it was the witch who was finally giving her the desperately need sense of contact, she would have to double murder her for that, but for now she quietly let herself mourn the loss of her only friend,

So tired was she that even when a hand lightly squeezed her shoulder, it wasn’t enough to bring her back to her senses. Nodding heavily now, she caught quick glimpses of her surroundings every time her mind did its best to bring her out of the heavy sleep she was spiraling down into; two strong arms guiding her feet to the foot board of the bed, a blanket pulled out beneath her, then tucked neatly below her chin. The sensation of a hand running through her hair came soon after, and she felt her head lifted just high enough for a pillow to snugly catch her fall. Finally, a warm palm caressed her cheek.

The last time she managed to open her eyes, the little huntress could have sworn she caught glimpse of golden hair and jeweled purple eyes. Ruby gently leaned against the palm before closing her eyes.

She missed this.

Spicecream Week Day 1: Change of Heart/Redemption

Neo blinked slowly, not sure that she really understood what Cinder had just said.

‘Give up?’ How could they just give up? They had come all this way. All the way to Atlas! Cinder and promised her revenge. And now she’s ready to just forget about Roman’s killer and move on!

Neo shook her head softly before trying to free herself from Cinder’s grasp.

Cinder sighed, watching Neo’s face scrunched up in confused angry, “Look, I’m not saying we forget about Ruby Rose, I’m saying that we stay out of the way. For now...”

Neo narrowed her eyes and pulled her wrist from Cinder’s grimm-hand. ‘For now?’

“Neo,” Cinder spoke softly, her tone surprising her icecream nicknamed partner, “I want revenge as much as you do... but... You haven’t seen Salem... You haven’t seen what she can do...”

Neo gaped a bit at Cinder, and rested a hand on Cinder’s face. In turn, Cinder placed her’s on top of the smaller woman’s.

“The truth is...” Cinder whispered in a shaky breath, “I’m scared...” A tear rolled down her cheek.

Neo leaned forward, resting her forehead against Cinder’s.

“I’m not saying we give up forever,” Cinder said, “Just until things blow over...” She looked into Neo’s heterochromatic eyes, “Please...”

Neo nodded softly.

Fighting not only for the fate of Vale, but all of humanity, Queen Ruby and her allies make a final stand against Luna Fracta and her Creatures of Grimm.
