He calms down and approaches you, rubbing your back, hugging you to calm you down

He reassures you that you're okay and listens to you talk about your nightmare if you're willing to

Once you've calmed you're breathing and stopped crying, he'll offer to make you tea or get you something to eat

He'll also offer to hold you until you go back to sleep if that will help

Either way, he spends the rest of the night being so gentle, patient, and kind with you

He just wants to make sure you are okay :)

Arguments weren't rare or new with Johanna

Sometimes they were silly and meaningless, other times they were severe and caused tension

Thankfully, serious arguments didn't happen often

But no matter who started it, the conflict was usually resolved either by you making up to Johanna in your own way or Johanna giving a grumpy but sincere apology

However this time it wasn't just some petty argument. This was serious, more serious than any of your previous fights

The fight progressed further and further until you and Johanna were yelling at each other to try to get the point across to the other

You were full of anger, and both of you had gotten more aggressive in your language towards each other

After some rage-filled comment towards Johanna, she had stepped forward raising a finger toward you, ready to tell you to never say something like that to her

But she froze and lowered her hand when she saw you stiffen up and flinch back

At first, she has no idea what to do or say. She had never been violent towards you or laid her hands on you in a harsh way, but you still flinched.

Was she scaring you? Did you really think she would hurt you over a stupid argument?

She felt angry and upset and not towards you, but herself

Sure, she had killed people but that was completely in self-defense, to survive the hunger games. But you had to know that she would never hurt you like that right?

She doesn't say anything, she looks down at the ground before walking off

Sometime later after the both of you have cooled off, Johanna comes with a peace offering, most likely a gift she had stored away or your favorite food

That's when she apologizes for letting the argument get out of hand, for saying things she shouldn't have, and for scaring you into thinking she would ever lay her hands on you

And once you two have sorted through things, she wants to know why you flinched away

If it was because it was a natural reaction because of trauma, she understands and is willing to hear you vent about it

If it was because you were scared she would hit you, she explains that she would never hurt you in any way

Shrek headcanons of when you (the ugly grey Swan who also lives in the swamp *you and Shrek never bothered each other since both you and him live in separate areas*) stand up for donkey when he was being bullied by Shrek...you never bothered the grumpy git but something told you that you should interfer and what Shrek yelled at Donkey was way out of line! You told Shrek that if he wanted Donkey to leave his house..there was absolutely no need to be a dick about it! You were not afraid of Shrek and you definitely did not back down from a fight...swans are known to be aggressive when threatened and you were extremely aggressive like hell. (You taught him a good lesson and Shrek actually begrudgingly apologised to Donkey for being rude to him).

How Donkey reacted when you defended him from bullying (it wasn't bullying though and Shrek had a right to privacy) and you told Donkey once you two were out of earshot from Shrek that Shrek was right though...he told him time and time again that Shrek wants his privacy and Donkey didn't take any consideration for that...

Shrek is caught extremely off guard, he didn't know you could even talk and here you were rightfully telling him off

You explained that you understood it was his house and that he wanted to be alone and unbothered by Donkey but that he didn't have to be so rude to someone who only showed him kindness and treated him like a normal person for once

He is taken aback and says something along the lines of how it's his swamp and he is the only one who has a say in who stays there then shamefully admits that he could have been nicer about it and aggressively apologizes to both you and Donkey before storming off into his house

Donkey is more than grateful and makes that very clear by talking your head off the rest of the night and thanking you for standing up for him

You earned a new best friend the moment you stuck up for him whether you like it to not :)

Stranger things angst Headcanon of how Dustin and Lucas reacted when you (Will's older twin sister who is his female counterpart excluding the bowl hair cut since she takes good care of her hair and a tomboy and a martial arts professional and pretty much good at anything and Bisexual) told Mike to drop dead in a ditch after you slapped him across the face and that will make you feel better when he tries to apologise to you for dumping you so bluntly the last week when you confessed to him *you walk away with Will before he could actually apologise to you*...what Mike said hurt your feelings and he could've been nicer about it then behave like a total asshole. You remember how hurt you felt before of that and you hated it and you hated him for it. No-one blamed you for reacting that way...he was a total jerk to you that day and Mike regretted it. Will's reaction as well...and Max's (she saw what happened)

On one hand, they're both like oh shit, it's going down

On the other, they think Mike had it coming cause he did have the tendency to be an asshole at times

Dustin and Lucus try their best to try and stop you from walking away but ultimately realize how useless that is and try to talk sense into Mike instead

They want to find a way for you guys to get along again even if your friendship/relationship ended so poorly

Will just goes along with whatever you want tbh, he is best friends with Mike but he also knows that you're his sister and Mike was an asshole, so he does what you say while also brainstorming ways to get you and Mike to be friends again

Max is totally on your side in all of this, she doesn't care much about making you and Mike friends again since he was a major jerk

But she is there for you to vent and let it all out

Eventually, Mike will come to his senses and actually apologize to you for everything he said does understand if you still want nothing to do with him anymore
