You were the only one that actually liked to be around him. The other wives hated him but you couldn’t blame them; he was a monster. Today was different though. He wasn’t trying to put a baby in anyone instead he was spending time with everyone. The other wives could care less about his presence so they just continue with whatever they were doing before he entered. You actually enjoyed his company so you obviously when to sit with him. He sat on a pile of pillows as a makeshift chair that had just enough room for another person to sit with him. You sat down at his side and laid your head on his shoulder. He wasn’t wearing his mask or his armor instead he wore a lose white cloth as a shirt and his normal pants. You looking up at him only to see him looking but at you. He never really understood you but he wasn’t going to question the affection.

“How was your day?” He asked looking down at you. He knew it was kind of dumb question but it’s all he could think of.

“It was okay. Just read a few books and braided hair. You?” You said while looking by at him. He looked tired.

“My day was normal; just more work and projects to plan out.” He says as he reaches beside him and grabs a guitar.

“Sounds boring but important I guess.” You say as you look at the guitar. It doesn’t look like total hell but it’s not in the best condition. The strings are all there but theres holes in it where there shouldn’t be.

He notices are you look at the guitar and how you study almost everything about it; the same way you looked at him for the first time.

“Would you like me to play for you?” He asked as he held it the way you would play it.

“Yes but only if you let me braid your hair.” You said as he cocked an eyebrow at you. “ I need the practices.” You stated as you ran your hand though his hair.

“Fine but only one piece though.” He says as he moves so you can get the pieces you want to braid.

He begins to play a soft music on the guitar much different than the metal music you normally hear. He plays as you begin to braid a small part of his hair. His hair is easy to braid because it wasn’t as thick as the others hair. When you were done with your braid; you made sure it looked good then you tied it off. He was still playing when you got done. You laid your head back on his shoulder and listened as he began to hum the music. His colossus fingers stun the guitar as he plays on. You turn your head into his arm then press a kiss on his arm as he finally ends the songs.

“That was beautiful.” You say as you struggle into his side.

“Thank you.” He says as he puts the guitar aside then reaches up to feel the braid. It’s not to big but not the smallest.

The two of you cuddle up more and just enjoy each other’s company until finally you asleep on him and dream of what the two of you could be.

River Bath

Living in the ape colony was very different than my old life. The thing I missed most from my old life was taking a bath. I missed the nice soaps and the hot running water. I needed a bath like it was yesterday. I crawled out of my fur bed and began to get dressed. I wore something simple that I could easily get out of. I packed a towel, small soap, shampoo, conditioner, and clean comfortable clothes. I found the soaps from a gas station that was close to the colony. I walked out my hut and began to the greet the apes. I can see Caesar talking to his wife and holding his second son close to his chest. He catches my eyes on him and smiles at me. He tells his wife goodbye and begins to walk down to me.

“Good morning, Caesar and Cornelius.” I greeted and signed at the same time. Cornelius smiled up at me and reached up for me. Caesar smiled down at his son and hands him over to me.

“What are you up today?” Caesar questioned as he noticed my bag hanging over my shoulder. Cornelius hugged me and then he also noticed my bag.

“I’m planning on taking a bath today so I got my supplies. I’ll be close to the colony just near the river.” I answered has I moved my bag more outward letting Caesar see the bag better.

“You will need protection. May be dangerous.” Caesar responded with worry.

“I wouldn’t want to bother anyone. I’ll be okay” I stated not wanting to drag anyone else out in the woods with me.

“More wolfs and bears in area. Bring Koba.” Caesar declared putting his foot down on this. I was floored by this decision. Really Koba?

“Koba? Doesn’t he hate me and doesn’t he have better things to do?” I asked worried about this decision. Koba and I had very limited conversations; if you could even call them that.

“No. It’ll be okay. I’ll go get him. Stay here.” Caesar walked away with Cornelius still in my arms. I looked down at Cornelius.

“It’s going to be a long day.” I told him looking back up to see Caesar and Koba talking in the distance.

“Why must I go?” Koba signed at Caesar getting angry.

“She needs protection and you are the best warrior.” Caesar signed placing a hand on Koba’s shoulder.

“Fine. She better be quick.” Koba huffed as he looked at Caesar.

“Never rush a woman.” Caesar stated shaking his head. Koba rolled his eyes and walked down to (y/n), Caesar followed behind him.

I watched as Koba and Caesar approached me. Koba looked angry with his new task. I was very nervous now. How could Caesar think this was a good idea?

“Come.” Koba spoke as he looked at me annoyed. I handed Cornelius to his father and waved goodbye to the both of them.

I followed Koba outside the gates and into the forest. I walked beside him at this point. He had his spear with him and he walked with his head held up high. I wanted to talk to him but I couldn’t think about what to say. I noticed he had a net hung across his back.

“Going to fish?” I questioned throwing him off guard. He eyed me for a second before speaking.

“Need to do something while out here. Waste of time.” He had malice in this voice.

“I’m sorry. I don’t mean to waste your time but Caesar said that I needed protection.” I responded feelings bad that I had put a stop to his own tasks for today.

“It’s fine. Caesar right.” Koba sighed shaking his head.

“What you don’t think I can take care of myself?” I eyed him watching his expressions.

“I know you can’t. Weak human.” Koba laughed out walking ahead of me.

“Let go then. Prove me wrong.” I stopped walking, trying to prove a point. Koba stopped and turned around.

“Really?” Koba cocked a brow looking at me up and down.

“Yes. Let’s wrestle. No weapons.” I laid out the rules and put down my bag. Koba put down his net and spear. He started at me with a run and I jumped out of the way. “Have to protect you, don’t I?” Koba smirked crossing his arms.

“Really? I’m not taking a bath in front of you, you’re a guy.” I starred at him crossing my arms over my chest.

“Not ape. Nothing for me.” Koba plainly stated not moving from his spot.

He told me everything about his life before and after meeting Caesar. How humans had used him for their own experiments. How he had killed the man that had ordered those experiments on him. I looked at him in amazement when he was done speaking.

“I’m so sorry about all those awful things they did to you. You never deserved that.” I should feel my heart sink after hearing his story.

“Happy now. Free now.” Koba stated watching my worry form on my face.

“Why trust me after everything that those people did to you?” I questioned watching think of the words to say.

“Different. You have good in you.” Koba spoke looking in my eyes. Koba got off of his elbow and pulled our forehead together. I looked down at his lips and when for a quick kiss. Koba pulled back and looked at me.

“You ready to go?” I looked back at Koba. He was coming back from the river. I packed my stuff in the bag and hung it over my shoulder. Koba nodded and grabbed my hand leading us back up to the colony. Hand and hand we made it back to the colony; together.
