I hate that I do this thing where I start watching/reading something when it has the tiniest kernel of potential and me and the rest if the fandom are so excited about all of the places it could go. But then the writer(s) just throw everything good into the trash and I'M already emotionally attatched so I have to watch this flaming garbage getting worse by each book/season, all the while mourning for what could have been and vehemently despising what it's become.

This is both amazing and profoundly irritating - the exact writing equivalent of that thing artists do - you know, how they’ll mess up anything that’s on expensive paper and planned in every single detail but get them doodling during a boring lesson and suddenly they’re Michel-bloody-angelo.
