Cuddling is a great way to show affection towards someone; Affection can be distributed through various forms of relationships - Platonic, familial, romantical, and so on.

I don't think it generally has to attribute to sex, I think a lot of people just find it a sort of intimate action; And a lot of people think intimate means sexual - When that's really not the case, according to Oxford Languages it's defined as both being "closely acquainted; familiar, close." and "private and personal." ; Not in the slightest does it only pertain to sexual or even romantically inclined things.

Re-reading the Envy fight scene in Gluttony's portal made me realize how much Edward cherishes life: How deeply the death of Nina affects him, how he tries to keep up his moral to never kill (this is especially emphasized in fma '03), how he sees 48 and 66 as human even if they don't consider themselves as such, how taken aback and upset he is when he realizes the talking faces on Envy used to be people and how difficult it was for him to use Envy's philosopher's stone to escape Gluttony's portal, how in awe he was when the baby was born in Rush Valley, his rants about how alchemy has never been able to create life but humans can do it within their own bodies. He blurs the line of human and not human and even considers those with little humanity left as human beings even if they themselves find it ridiculous. I don’t think anyone sees humanity the way he does.

It's stupid that bread goes bad so fast. Bread should last ten million years on your countertop. You should be able to feed yourself off the same loaf of bread from the day you are born to the day you die. They should pass down bread between generations like a family heirloom. There should be remnants of still-good bread after the heat death of the universe.

This reminds me that when I was in 5th grade my siblings used to call sex "skittles", said that "that's what you're supposed to call it!! Everyone says so!"; Never believed them but I still think about it to this day.
