Lance tilted his head at Keith’s sudden change in demeanor.

“What’s wrong bud?”

“Is everything alright in hear?”

Nurse joy entered and saw them in the tub soaked and covered in soap suds. She stares at them for a few seconds then says.

“Usually trainers sit outside the tub while bathing their pokemon.”

“Originally I was doing that. But then SOMEONE decided I needed a bath too.” Lance explained as he turned and glared at the cheeky werewolf in question.

Coran had charged Lance and Keith with the chore of cleaning an old storage room. While they were cleaning, Lance got an idea for some mischief (as usual) and pulled out his mp3 player and hit play.

The theme from the movie “jaws” fills the room and Lance playfully begins creeping around the room. Stalking Keith like a hungry shark.

Keith had been around the corner of a tall warehouse like shelf that was covered in many Altean tech looking trinkets and boxes.

He was moving the loose trinkets on the lower levels of the shelf, as he heard a suspense building sound. It wasn’t scary, but slightly unsettling to know Lance was planning something.

He stood up, looking towards the noise coming from the other side of the shelf and taking a couple steps back.

“Lance? What’s that sound?”

Lance paused at Keith’s question.

“Uhm…. That’s…. A very good question. All these years I never really thought about why a nurse would be working the front desk instead of a receptionists. Maybe we should ask her later when we’re done in the shower.”

While Keith transforms, Lance runs over to the toiletry dispenser to grab what they need. He scrolls through the different types of shampoos and conditioners made for different pokemon.

Which should he get?

Keith is a wolf and a wolf is a canine so a shampoo made for dog type pokemon?

He found that there were different shampoos for different dog pokemon based on their elemental types.

There were fire type friendly shampoos for growlith and houndour.

There was electric type friendly shampoo for pokemon like Electrike and Manectric.

Rock type for rockruff and lycanroc.

Hmmm… which shampoo would be safe for Keith?

Maybe it would be safe to go with normal type shampoo.

So Lance selected normal type pokemon shampoo and conditioner. Then walked back over to Keith, placed the items down and turned the tap on.

He put his hand under the stream to test the temperature. Once he was satisfied that it was warm enough he turned it to the sprayer and held it out to Keith.

“Ok test this and tell me if this is a good temperature for you.”

The nurse joy told them yes and to help themselves to the facilities provided. Lance dragged Keith to the shower room. Fortunately, there were private stalls so nobody could see Keith transform. Lance looked around and checked to see if there was anyone who might see them. Fortunately again, there were no trainers this early in the day to use the showers. So they had the shower room to themselves.

Lance turned to Keith and cracked his knuckles.

“Ok let’s get you all cleaned up. Turn into a wolf so I can wash you.”

Nurse joy did not look amused at all. “If you can’t control your pokemon, we are going to have to ask you to leave. We do not tolerate unruly pokemon here at the pokemon center! Are we going to have a problem?”

“NO NO! Sorry! Sorry! We’re not going to have a problem! Keith will behave. Right Keith?” Lance grinded that last part out as he looked Keith in the eye, giving him a look that said ‘for the love of god put a muzzle on that temper of yours!’

Then Lance heard the whines that when translated sounded like Keith was complaining about the noise the blow dryer made.

He looks at the blow dryer and thinks. “Hmmmm…”

Then he gets an idea.

He rummages around in his travel bag and pulls out a set of noise canceling headphones.

“How bought these? These will block out the noise from the dryer.”

Old men are silly

Every time I visit my grandpa in the veterans nursing home, this blind old guy who was my grandpa’s roommate does something silly.

First time: my mom, grandma and aunt are visiting grandpa. While visiting, the old guy calls the nurse to help him with his handheld radio. He keeps telling her to open it. So she opens the back where the batteries are and he tells her “no! Open it!” She tells him that “I can’t sir, it doesn’t open anywhere else.” But he insists that she has to open it. So she calls in another nurse. maybe she can figure out what he wants. So the other nurse comes in and she has the same confusion. They both tell him that it doesn’t open. That’s when he shouts “well then how else am I going to read my book?!”

Second time: it was the day of Donald trump’s failed assassination attempt. It was all over the tv and the radio. My mom, grandma and I were watching the news on the tv. The blind guy was listening to his little radio. All the sudden he pipes up “hay did you hear?! Donald trump got assassinated!”

To which I respond “oh, no sir. Donald trump didn’t get assassinated. He got shot at and was injured but he’s ok. He’s alive and well.”

then he says “yeah he got assassinated!”

I turn to my mom and whispered. “Are we sure he’s not deaf instead of blind?”

In the end we concluded that he had to have been senile.

Though we also suspected that maybe he was democrat. XD

Third time: at this point, my grandpa had been moved to the room across the hall from his old room. So the blind vet wasn’t his roommate anymore.

While we were talking to grandpa, I suddenly heard the blind guy pipe up “please don’t do this!”

I blink wondering what the nurses could be doing that he’d plead like that.

I look over and see the nurse wheeling him out of his room on a chair with a blanket covering him. She responded “I’m sorry sir but this is the only way we can give you a bath.”

Forth time: my mom, grandma and I were giving grandpa a shave. Mom was using an electric shaver. When she finished, she gave it to me to empty out. I take it over to the garbage can and bang it out.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Then the old blind vet across the hall pipes up “come in!”

This old guy was so silly and he made us laugh every time we came. I bet his family gets as much a kick out of his antics as we do.
