Raphael: Great Pyrenees - Large, very gentle and loyal dogs. If they consider you family they will go to the ends of the earth to protect you. - 100lbs+ of love and muscle - Tend to get nervous when their families/herds are separated and will stop at nothing to find them and make sure they're safe

Leonardo: Kai Ken - Loyal and intense dogs with high agility - If you do not keep these lads occupied they will destroy everything to entertain themselves - Stripey :] - Extremely good at what they do! They're very smart but also VERY stubborn. - Very family oriented. Once they consider you family everyone else who approaches you is a potential threat

Donatello: Gordon Setter - Stocky and well built, but creative thinkers - Very stoic when interacting with those outside their families, can be difficult for those unfamiliar with them to gauge emotion. - Content to let you do the heavy lifting then sweep in and gloat

Michelangelo: Shiba Inu - LOUD SASSY LITTLE SHIT (affectionate) - Tons of energy all the time. When do they stop? They dont! - Aggressively loyal, will rip your hand off if you say the wrong thing about a loved one - Deceptively strong for their size, do not underestimate them or you will regret it

you're 100% right abt your post abt rise Mikey and Raph being overshadowed emotionally/traumatically [and in general!] for so many reasons broski

Everyone talks abt how Raph doesn't have anger issues like the Raphs from past generations but she DOES on so many levels, Its the fact that it isnt taken out on her brothers because she could FATALLY injure them and its shown in an episode how Raph *does* deal with all this stress and anger about her brothers and EVERYTHING thats happening. She doesn't just have anger issues, she has STRONG EMOTIONS. She panics easily, she gets scared easily, she gets excited, madc sad, frustrated EASILY and it's not just because she's a vulnerable character emotionally it's cause she doesn't get to EXPRESS some of those emotions depending on the thing its from becauze of mocking from her brothers, like with the fear of puppets or how Leo doesn't take ANY of her emotions seriously on an external level. MIKEY literally *is* the family therapist in a way. It's not explored a ton in "family sessions" but its OBVIOUSLY one of the parts they fill in their familys dynamic but judging by my *own* experiences AND what I've seen from others that has a fucking EFFECT on you even if you don't *show* it. Mikeys not only the YOUNGEST but the strongest on many levels and in my personal opinion that includes emotionally because I can only recall a few times there was GENUINE fear, not just a base level "oh crap" but a fucking DEEP twisting fear regardless if its irrational like Raph would have with the puppets, Donnie has with the beachballs and Leos clearly stated fear of being useless/nothing without his family - and I feel like I can GUARANTEE Mikey *helps* with all these things in any way they CAN help their family and I wouldn't be suprised IF they feel like they have to be emotionally strong JUST AS RAPH FEELS SHE HAS TO AS AN **OLDER SIBLING.**

Yeah also Raph's fucking huge and probably really hurt one of her brothers when they were little so that's probs why we dont see her get super angry a bunch

Splinter’s lax parenting style makes a lot more sense once you learn that Draxum created the turtles for the express purpose of waging a war. Our boys are good boys, but they can also be kind of… unnerving. They must have been little TERRORS before they developed morality and impulse control. It’s possible Splinter plain wore himself out in the early years of caring for them and now he’s fucking Tired™.

I think at one point he was just like, “Okay it’s been a few years since any of you have tried to eat each other please for the love of God let me rest I’ve forgotten what REM sleep feels like.”
