I Have A Question About When Cas Was Being Possessed By Lucifer - Why Didn't His Body Have A Reaction

I have a question about when Cas was being possessed by Lucifer - why didn't his body have a reaction to that? we know from Nick that if Lucifer (or any archangel?) is not in their true vessel, the body they're in has a reaction. well, Cas was possessed and there wasn't anything there. but there was for Vince. is it because Cas' vessel is dead? or is it something else?
