I rather like the substitutes/metaphors the riddle Amon made uses for the Red and Black. Especially that no other animal but the unicorn is used for the Black territory

For more of my babble read on;

Not only is the unicorn one of the symbols on the current (and historic) coat of arms of the UK (as story takes inspiration from the Victorian England) and has been so for decades but it has also been the symbol is Scotland for so long (national animal at that) and the one thing that’s always linked to the Scots? Freedom.

Love for freedom to be more precise. Of course, unicorn in and out of itself has many more symbols and meanings attached to it, but the most reoccurring ones in more than one mythology (both European and Oriental/Asian ones) are the themes of freedom and purity of heart. They can also symbolise bravery and power among other things but when put into the context of the game; it makes sense why the unicorn would be the symbol of the Black Army that fights for freedom. It mashed pretty well with the Lion representing the Red army and tradition they uphold.

I always like to see these little bits sprinkled around in the game the longer I play it, and I won’t lie when I say that I would have loved to see if the coat of arms and flag of Cradle 500 bear any resemblance to the current flags of Red and Black; how much are they different, to what extent did. Cradle change after the split? I hope we get more answers to these questions in future events

The wind roared in their ears, loud and merciless, cutting like an invisible blade, paying no mind to the flesh, reaching deep within to hurt their every nerve. Or maybe it would in any other circumstances. Right now it was nothing more than an unplanned hindrance that was incapable of clouding whatever was unleashed upon them. The storm that no one could have prevented and no one could stop.

The leaves falling off the trees, swirling around them, creating the most beautiful background to the events far from any beauty in the most grotesque way. The memory of the earlier rain came in small, cold drops going tap-tap in the dead silence, the echo spreading throughout the whole forest.

It wasn’t only the ghost of the rain. It was something else, running down the cheeks streaked with chilliness, caving a river before finding the edge of the face and streaming down to the soil that wouldn’t bloom for the years to come.

What followed was a scream – primal and unbidden as two swords clashed in a rain of hot sparks dancing through the steel. And again. And again. And again. And every time the same sequence: parry and step back. Even though the arms were getting weaker with each strike. Even though the legs refused to carry the weight anymore. Even though each breath was nothing more than a sharp pain shooting through the system like a lightning.

“Fight back!”
