Looking proud as he watches Riddle work his magic during the opening ceremony (he did take out his own pen, just in case)

As if he has just noticed Grim’s antics at the opening ceremony and is going “hm?”

Happy to be wearing the ceremonial robes of the school he has been longing to attend

About six buttons left open, but please don't show too much skin. He is in a bad mood because the hood presses down on his ears.

He is like “Damn, I can’t wear this” because his ears won’t fit

He is thinking about if the welcoming party for new students (is there one?) will have tasty food

He is thinking “I’m going to become strong at this school…!!”, but from an outsider’s perspective he just looks uncomfortable

As if magic has been released from a flower that had been closed inside the book (“I touched it and magic came out…” kind of way…)

His expression says “I got into the same school as Malleus-sama…!!!”

“Looks like Malleus didn’t come after all”

He looks cool in the outfit but he was not invited to the opening ceremony. Showing the entirety of his horns might make his face look too small… A hood with holes customized for Malleus. There are gold accents (please match the accents at the center of the hood)

The entire rough is colored and final coloring, finishing and lighting is decided. Grim and the first years are in a semi-circle surrounded by shimmering light, like soft afternoon sunlight. At this stage there were colorful balloons, but this background was rejected by Disney for environmental concerns.

(also, disclaimer: these are all fan translations! My favorite part of the Design Note book is the chibi drawings, because they are cute as hell.
