Day 1: Trap

Demon Slayer - Tengen x Rengoku

[Miya & Mia's Tickletober 2023] - Daaaay 1! I'm so excited to start off with a ship I love but have not really written so far (not counting the collab with mia that also featured Tengen's wives).

Word Count: 1.5K

Rengoku was early. Of course he was early. Way, waaaay too early. He was that excited. How often did he get to visit a festival with his favorite friends? Well, not often! His excited knocks were answered by Tengen, who opened the door, sending a bright light right into Rengoku’s eyes, just by how flashy he looked in his fancy kimono.

“You’re early!” Tengen greeted cheerfully. Rengoku grinned and invited himself in, playfully bumping his shoulder against Tengen’s chest.

“Of course I am! Am I the first one?” he asked.

“Well, the ladies are helping Tanjiro and Nezuko change into their kimono, and getting changed themselves so…” Tengen winked. “It’s just us.”

Rengoku blushed, looked around to reconfirm it was just them, then stood on his tiptoes and kissed Tengen’s cheek. 

“Great!” he chirped. Not that their affection to one another was any secret. Tengen’s wives were more than happy to share their husband with him. Many fellow Hashira knew about their relationship too. Still, he was a little shy about it.

“Oh come on,” Tengen said, scolding Rengoku’s innocent peck, and he grabbed his kimono and pulled him closer, kissing his lips hungrily.

“Hmh!” Rengoku grabbed Tengen’s shoulders, but instead of pushing him back, he pulled him closer. Tengen kissed him with a little too much passion for an average greeting kiss, and Rengoku enjoyed it a little too much, so he quickly managed to pull himself free and caught his breath.

“S-so!” he said, blushing like crazy. “W-well, while we wait, why don’t we-”

“Play a game? I’m in,” Tengen finished for him.

“I uh, that wasn’t… A game?” Rengoku crossed his arms and thought for a moment. “How much time do we have?” he asked, but Tengen already grabbed his arm and guided him further inside.

“No need to think. I already thought of one. You see, our little Tanjiro placed a bet earlier,” Tengen explained him. 

“For what?” Rengoku asked. Tengen helped him sit down, and from somewhere he suddenly grabbed a piece of rope. 

“He said he thinks that between the two of us, you’re the one who’s most ticklish.” 

“Huh? Why would he think that?” 

“Because it’s true of course. So, to help him test his theory, I will need to tie you up and tickle you. Then you can do the same to me, it’s the most fair. What do you think?” 

Rengoku thought it didn’t make sense, but of course he didn’t say that. He hummed.

“Or, we can continue what we were doing just now?” Tengen said, leaning closer to kiss him. Rengoku instantly gasped and shook his head in embarrassment. 

“No no, it’s fine! So… Tie me up huh? Just my arms then?” he already willingly held out his hands together so Tengen could wrap the rope around his wrists.

“Totally fine. The one of us who endures the tickling longest without saying… let’s say, what should we say for a safeword?” Tengen asked.

“Hmm, potato?” Rengoku suggested, causing Tengen to snort.

“Potato it is,” he said. It took him a few more seconds to tie Rengoku’s hands together. Rengoku studied Tengen’s handsome face while he did, blushing slightly. In another room, he heard distant chatter and the wives’ laughter, as well as Tanjiro’s loud voice. Being alone with Tengen was a rare thing. Even when they weren’t completely alone right now, he liked to treasure the feeling.

“There,” Tengen said, finishing the rope work, and he looked at him with a sly grin.

“Ready?” he asked, wiggling his fingers. Rengoku only now realized what he had really gotten himself into, and his eyes widened. Still, he nodded.

“Shouldn’t we wait for Tanjiro?” he asked nervously.

“Nah, he will take our word. Then, here I come. Don’t laugh too hard, it’ll make me lose count,” Tengen said, and he started tickling, and counting at the same time.

“One… Two… Three… Four…” 

Rengoku could barely hear him counting though. He could mostly hear his own sudden laughter, and he squirmed and twisted, but Tengen pinned him down firmly and clawed at his sides and ribs. 

“HEEhaha! Wahaha-wawait haahah!” 

“....Eleven, twelve - can’t wait now, Kyo~ - thirteen,” Tengen said, casually pausing his counting to answer his giggly plea.

“It tihiihickles wahaha!” Rengoku cried. 

“Kind of the point,” Tengen laughed, but Rengoku could only react to his teasing with more laughter. The feeling of not being able to move his arms somehow increased the sensation of ticklishness and helplessness. He barked when Tengen kneaded his sides calmly yet so torturously, and Rengoku kicked his legs.

“Everything alright over there?” Maki’s voice could be heard in the distance.

“All fine! You guys take your time!” Tengen answered. By now he was no longer counting. He was only tickling Rengoku, and Rengoku was only laughing.

“So, tickles a lot huh, doesn’t it Kyo? So ticklish you are. Are you not embarrassed?” Tengen said playfully. Rengoku cackled while nodding and shaking his head hysterically.

“Nahhaha! Juhuhust you wahahait!” he laughed. 

“Tanjirooo~? You don’t want to miss this!” Tengen called out, but no response came. Or maybe there was a reply, but Rengoku couldn’t hear it, because he was laughing so much!

“Heeheehehee! Whahaha ahaharen’t you countihihing!” he howled.

Tengen wiggled his eyebrows for no reason at all. “Oh I am, in my mind. Like how you are debating when it’s potato time, in that sweet mind of yours. Aren’t you, Kyo?” 

Tengen was the weirdest man to ever exist. Besides Rengoku himself then!

“Huahhahaa I ahaham nohohot tihihinking thahat!” he laughed, and he was impressed to know what kind of sound his voice could make as soon as Tengen suddenly moved the tickles from his lower sides all the way up under his arms.

Rengoku threw his head back and brought his tied hands to Tengen’s chest, shoving him helplessly.

“NAHHA-not thehehere! Wahhaha!” He curled up and tried to pull up his knees but Tengen easily stretched him out in the position he wanted and continued to wiggle his fingers in his armpits.

“Why not? I think to see who is most ticklish, I should at least get your worst spot. I mean, one of them,” he said in a flirty tone.

Rengoku whined when Tengen’s other hand easily lowered to his thigh and started to squeeze there. This left one hand still tickling his armpit, and in theory Rengoku should be able to fight Tengen off now that he was dividing his attention to tickling two separate spots at the same time. But Tengen was skilled, and Rengoku was ticklish, so he could only lay there and laugh.

“AHahaahah!” Oh no. He regretted it! Tanijro could walk in any moment. He would see Rengoku, whom he respected and admired so much, in such a humiliating state. No way! Even Rengoku had some precious dignity still intact!

“Uzuhuuhuehehe! Wahahah!”

“Yes, Kyo-ju-ro?” 

“Potahahato! Potato plehehease!” Rengoku squealed.

“What was that?” 

Ah! The bastard! “Potaaaatohaahahaha!” Rengoku roared. The timing was truly magical. Right at that moment, the others walked in. Tengen’s wives, Tanjiro, and Nezuko.

“Potato?” 

“What is going on?”

“Ah, just a tickle fight. I figured.” 

The ladies all had something to say. And while Rengoku gathered his thoughts about this not looking like a tickle fight at all with how his hands were tied together, he looked at Tanjiro, his own face still bright red and teary.

“Tanjiro! L-look at you, making a bet like this. Well,” Rengoku said breathlessly while Tengen untied his hands.

Tanjiro cocked his head. “A bet?” he asked. Rengoku nodded.

“I am slightly offended you would think I am more ticklish than Uzui here. But since you’re now with us, let us demonstrate that is not the case, right, Uzui?” Rengoku said, taking the rope and holding it up so Tengen could get tied up next.

“Nah, it’s time to go to the festival. Am I right?” he asked the others, and they all nodded.

The ladies cheered, and Tengen took them by the shoulders and merrily headed out.

“Come on Tanjiro! Kyojuro, let’s go! Festivel time!” 

Rengoku stood there, still blushing, still baffled. “Oi, Tanjiro!” he called out as Tanjiro was fixing a little something on Nezuko’s cute kimono. 

“Hmm?” Tanjiro looked up at him.

“You mean, there wasn’t any bet? Did you say anything to Tengen at all, about me? About uh being ticklish?” he asked. Tanjiro shrugged.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, but that sure looked like fun! I’m good at tickle fights. Count me in next time. Right, Nezuko?” Tanjiro giggled and took his sister by her hand. They then followed the others.

“Let’s go, they’ll leave us behind!” 

Rengoku stood there sheepishly. It was a… joke? A trap? A literal tickle trap! He couldn’t believe it. Tengen Uzui, just you wait! But first… He already felt the festival excitement rushing right back, and he ran after them.

“Wait for me guys!” He would make Tengen pay for this another time!

Seriously, I've been on a Smiler kick on Discord servers for the past 2-3 days ever since I realized that the theme is the song I heard at a scare-house last Halloween that sent me into Lee Panik like almost nothing ever has before

As for the Deities... Sweet jesus don't let Rags find out about this. Those two would get along like a house on fire and enable each others' chaos, and bounce ideas off of each other on how to make the whole world permanently smile and laugh their heads off.

He'd be so fuckin mean and make as many of his human friends ride it as possible. Granted, he wouldn't let it permanently alter their brain chemistry, he knows other emotions are important for people to process. But he'd still let them be euphoric, fill them with adrenaline and dopamines, overloaded with tickle-pleasure, and giggle-drunk for a few days after 😈

Kenni might not approve tho. He already doesn't like coasters and the methods are a little... Intense for his liking, lmao

But still, sign me the fuck up, it seems like a genuinely fun rollercoaster and amusement park 👍
