Its that time again, fam! We would like to formally announce @eerna​ as our official cover artist for Falling For You: A Rayllum Zine! Eerna has been fantastic to work with and we are absolutely in love with the art she produced for this zine!!

The Legend Was True (One-Shot)

A girl attempts to summon the notorious spirit of Bloody Mary.

She grabbed one of her scented candles and placed it on the desk next to her mirror, then placed another one on the opposite side of her desk. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out a lighter, ignited the flame with a click, then lit both candles.

Turning off her bedroom lights, she walked to stand in front of the mirror. A shiver crept through her body. She knew she shouldn’t be doing this, but she just had to know if the legends were real. Call it a morbid curiosity or whatever you will.

“Bloody Mary,” she said once, looking straight into the mirror. “Bloody Mary,” she repeated again with ease. She had trouble with it the third time, and shut her eyes. No, I can’t do this!… but I have to. If I stop now, all will be for naught. She opened her eyes again. “Bloody Mary.”

Initially, nothing happened. The room was still as quiet as before, with the quiet hum of her air conditioning unit. Pfft, well that’s lame. Stupid! I knew it wouldn’t happen.

All of a sudden, the candles flickered as a wind blew through the room. But she had her windows shut. Gasping, she looked at the mirror. “No way…”

A ghostly figure appeared in the mirror, just as the legends had said. The figure resembled that of a human girl in a white dress, only it was more spectre than human, right out of the uncanny valley. It had voids for eyes with blood dripping from them, skin as pale white as snow, a bizarrely long neck, and long stringy black hair. It let out a ghastly screech, the likes of which humankind had never heard before.

The girl gulped as she looked in the mirror, then reached behind her and grabbed a bouquet of flowers in her right arm, extending them out to the mirror in front of her.

“Would you like to go to prom with me?”

Wrote this horror-comedy piece in about 5-10 minutes between classes. Contains one of my proudest plot twists ever.

It’s a pun. Since we’re talking about TDP ships, and the Ruthless is literally a ship.

Ruthari (Runaan/Ethari): You want Runaan freed from the coin as soon as possible.

Runavos (Runaan/Aaravos): You have a type. It’s purple elf boys.

Viravos (Viren/Aaravos): You are a firm believer in the inherent eroticism of taking over the world.

Virrow (Viren/Harrow): You got quite the kick out of hearing Harrow say, “On your knees.”

Janaya (Janai/Amaya): You secretly want an elf GF who can kick your ass… and you’re female.

Gremaya (Gren/Amaya): You just wanted good things for Gren, and really, who wouldn’t?

Ruthless: That’s a bad pun and you should feel bad.

Not sure if this has been done before, but here’s my take on the “What Your Favorite Ship Says About You” meme, with ships from The Dragon Prince. (Inspired by this video.) Enjoy!
