TeriyakiChicken With Sweet Slaw

Teriyaki Chicken with Sweet Slaw
Teriyaki chicken, which is sweet, salty, and sticky, is the ideal weeknight meal. The Japanese phrase "teriyaki" describes grilled dishes that have been seasoned with soy sauce using a marinade, basting, or dipping sauce. Teriyaki, as it is known to Americans, has Japanese American roots and often consists of additional sweetness from sugar or mirin, as well as aromatics and occasionally fruit juice. For our home-made teriyaki sauce, we use fresh ginger, garlic, green onions, soy sauce, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar to create that cherished flavor with a hint of tang.
Complete the meal by serving this popular takeout staple with a sweet slaw and white rice.
“I cook with wine, sometimes I even add it to the food.”― W.C. Fields

Bubble Tea
Catching up with loved ones and listening to our favorite music while we chewed on our tapioca pearls. Much has changed since I was first introduced to bubble tea, but my love for bubble tea has not. The traditional milk tea is my favorite. The sweet, creamy beverage of strong tea, milk and those addictive tapioca pearls is something I crave so frequently. Have you got a favorite flavor of bubble tea?

Breakfast
Breakfast is simple today, nothing fancy just straightforward bread with a slather of strawberry preserves and a hot cup of coffee with milk completes the meal.
FYI: Many of you have noticed that I left suddenly and haven't been around for more than a couple of months. I am so appreciative of all the emails you sent me expressing your affection and worry. I was quite sick, but I'm now well again.
“One should not attend even the end of the world without a good breakfast.” ― Robert A. Heinlein, Friday

Fish and Chips
I grew up Catholic and celebrate and observe certain rules. For many catholics like myself I have to remember to abstain from meat on certain days during Lent and that means Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and all Fridays during Lent. So during these times I make it easy on myself, these are the days you would find me having some sushi rolls or some fish and chips.
“Food, in the end, in our own tradition, is something holy. It’s not about nutrients and calories. It’s about sharing, It’s about honesty, It’s about identity.” -Louise Fresco

Little Pie Company
When I read a review of the Little Pie Company's Sour Cream Apple Walnut Pie by Maggie Hoffman, Serious Eats Editor, that says, "Would eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner" I was sold. I have to try that pie.
Purchased two little pies, one Sour Cream Apple Walnut Pie and one Banana Coconut Cream Pie. Both pies were excellent but hands down their signature Sour Cream Apple Walnut Pie is what will get me returning to their store. Little Pie Company not so little in taste.
Desserts are like mistresses. They are bad for you. So if you are having one, you might as well have two. –Alain Ducasse

Beef with Bell Peppers and Lychee
The natural sweetness of the lychee balances the spices' savory flavor. If the weather is agreeable, grill the beef to enhance the flavor and create a lovely, dark crust. I opted to make a quick stir fry because I was too lazy. Lol
